Thread: vigs on buying the 4/10 in LV

  1. #1
Are the vigs on buying the 4/10 in LV up front or only on wins? I have been to Reno/Tahoe in Nevada and the vig is up front. It is likewise for Louisiana. In Mississippi the vig is only on wins.

What about the 3x field bet on the 12 or 2?

Thanks in advance. I have a trip to Aria in April.

The vig is charged usually on winning buy bets only in LV. You can usually push the house a little (on $35, $55 buy bets, etc). A very small number of casinos offer zero vig buy bets (e.g. Downtown Grand).

Field can be triple or double, depending on the casino. Most downtown properties pay triple.

Aria in particular pays triple on the 12.

If you can make a $35 buy for a buck vig, how much can you push a for a two buck vig? $70?

At $70, the vig is $3. The vig is 5% so at $20 it is exactly $1. Most places will let you get away with $1 for $25 or $30. At $35 they tend to round up.

The places that takes the vig up front however will allow you $1 for $35.
