Thread: He & Other Slugs: Legends In His Own Mind?

mickeycrimm....yes, we all know him as a self-proclaimed "keno pro who lurks the vast highways of Montana" in a junk vehicle that in reality, wouldn't make it from Sam's Town to Aliante Station without dropping 20oz. of cheap oil.

He also gets banned wherever he appears for his constant, profanity-driven rants about how he's the best gambler ever or how he'll "kick anyone's ass" that doesn't believe him etc. Now he litters vpfree with more of his nonsense stories about some loser called Tuna and a few of his degenerate pals from Reno. And you guessed it--these clowns are all blasts-from-the-past, where he can make up any type of "lore" he wants and feed it to anyone who can read. Problem is, he almost always ends up replying to himself, as virtually no one pays attention to his crap any more. Could also be why the idiot has been spotted doing his usual cursing & meaningless rambling on several other forums who haven't hammered him into the woodwork yet.

Which brings us to this forum. Is it better to be here, where there aren't that many contributors, or on vpfree, which has over 11000 members but only 10 or twelve people actually have anything to contribute? And mind you, a neurotic poster called nightoftheiguana litters that forum up day & night with incomprehensible rambles that runs neck & neck with mickey's posts for the trophy that says "Stupidest Postings Ever".

Percentage-wise, more people participate here. I'll look around at some of the other forums to see what gives. We already know WoV went south long ago with it's agenda of "say it my way or take the highway" and being the nonsensical LGBT focal point of gambling related forums. Similarly, vp.com is nothing more than a Bob Dancer kiosk. Where oh where has vp-heaven gone?

Last night I was looking for craps forums and unfortunately they are all dominated by former WOVers with their own agendas about proving to the world that casinos use corrupt dice (very, very unlikely), or challenging the dice schools (yes, they probably should be challenged and I've never paid for a course).

The reality is there probably aren't any "good" forums left on the Internet. Most if not all are still dominated by those who want to attack others but can't contribute useful information.

Even this forum lacks significant contributions of useful information.

As I wrote in another thread I could care less about the personal attacks (that wasn't how I put it, however) and I am hoping that Dan Druff can give this forum better direction as a place for useful contributions.

Let me add this: useful contributions doesn't mean information everyone agrees with. I never agreed with Rob's strategy but I thought it was very useful to have it here and on my website. I want to see information that we can all consider and judge. What I don't want to see -- and what kills a forum -- is attacking the authors. Attack the info YES, attack the authors NO.

I thought your usage was a reference to Red's love for Kurt Vonnegut.

    12. "Why don't you take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut? Why don't you take a flying fuck at the mooooooooooooon?"

Even when Vonnegut dared to propose a utopian scheme, it was a happily dysfunctional one. In Slapstick, Wilbur Swain wins the presidency with a scheme to eliminate loneliness by issuing people complicated middle names (he becomes Wilbur Daffodil-11 Swain) which make them part of new extended families. He advises people to tell new relatives they hate, or members of other families asking for help: "Why don't you take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut? Why don't you take a flying fuck at the mooooooooooooon?" Of course, this fails to prevent plagues, the breakdown of his government, and civil wars later in the story. http://www.avclub.com/article/15-thi...anyone-el-1858

Mickey should be allowed back on (if he wants) if others are going to be allowed to bash him. We can have a Rob, Mickey, Arci three way battle royal!
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

The fool is always on the sauce. He thinks it's "cool" to be and act drunk. Just like he thinks others see him as some type of idol for being a hobo in his younger years, always being too poor to have a decent vehicle so he hitchhiked and hops trains for mobility, never holding a real job, being too much of a bum to ever have had a girlfriend let alone any family, and sucking off the Gov't. Thus, the litany of manufactured stupid stories.

    Yes....here here!

You think it's cool to lie all the time. I vote we off you and bring in a real man.

Oh I forgot--it's "cool" to try to pick up ugly, diseased skanks in the bar next door. It would have been a departure from the truth not to have told the entire story.

    Thanks for the catch!

I just thought I'd say this again:

Today I discovered it's a remote controlled helicopter. And while I feel badly Alan doesn't want to give me one, I don't blame him. They look pretty neat.
It's amazing how people just assume stuff about other people. Particularly, what suits their own agendas. Was Alan upset when he repeated that old literary phrase from the early 1900's? Oh, the forum's ending. The AP's have been vindicated.

Die-hard gamblers, today, fall into two categories: the very young/old; and the very gullible/stupid, not necessarily in this order. Very gullible in the sense that they are smart enough to get sucked up into a bunch of baloney, and stay there for decades. Smart enough to make up silly assumptions.

Nothing special going on, just the pathology of things like the flu. Every century or so, a brand new one wipes out significant numbers of people, and the whole thing tails off to affect primarily the very young/old again.

Alan, aside from your non-gambling posts & articles (real estate, businesses, etc.), I don't think you've contributed much useful (good) information.
