You're right, I haven't. And because of posters like HardEight being allowed to throw their insults at me and making Antisemitic posts apparently with the indifference of the owner who claims to be of Jewish descent, I've decided to leave this forum. I already sold it to Dan so it's now not only his headache and seeing the posts here are no longer a distraction.

I certainly have nothing to gain by being here, nor is there anything to learn here.

During the few years I posted here I've enjoyed the many, MANY trip reports and conversations you had with Rob, Arci, Dan, and others.

Ultimately it's your decision to leave (considering you're even reading this thread), but I hope you reconsider and visit from time to time.

I think there's everything to learn on the forums about gambling. The perfect place, in fact. A place where nothing you can do will have any lasting effect on the "flora and fauna". (What theoretical physicist hasn't dreamed of such a sweet spot in the universe from which to just watch it unfold.)

Like a real sort of "Mission Impossible". The one topic which never seems to get posted are those cerebral PhD (pdf form) studies of why and how people make their gambling choices. Fascinating, even when partially understood. There're quite a few mickey mouse psychology views on the damaged brains of addicts; I'm writing of the ones that nobody on the forums has yet taken much time to hunt down and figure out. (I posted a couple on my own off-line forum years ago. Not much, just a safe and easy place to document my own travels developments.)

Anyway, it's refreshing to see that nothing has indeed changed. Further confirmation.

All of this reminds me, of years ago, when I had a psychiatrist type guy (from one of the professional gambling addiction treatment forums) write a paragraph or two about the Wizard's money-making motives with the gamblers.

I have been away a lot over the past 2 weeks. I was not able to look at this forum yesterday, and apparently all hell broke loose.

I have deleted two pointless thread by HardEight, which he started simply to bash Alan and Rob.

You can say that perhaps Rob deserves it, but Alan definitely doesn't. He never intentionally starts controversy here.

I don't necessarily believe the posts were anti-Semitic. They were just nasty and trolling, and I don't want that here.

I am still not sure if HardEight is real, or if he is some other user here who might have been banned in the past.

However, I don't like the direction of some of his recent messages, and I don't like the attacks on Alan.

Like it or not, Alan started this place several years ago. None of you would be on this site if it weren't for him. I would like at least some level of respect shown to Alan for that reason, whether he continues posting here or not. I feel he's earned that.

He has definitely contributed over the years. He has posted the highest number of messages, and nearly all of them have real content. He has kept this place going & active for years.

So I don't want to see him trolled.

If you disagree with his opinions, that's fine. You can call him out in that respect. But no more trolling of him. In fact, I don't want to see trolling on this forum at all, but especially not that of the unsolicited variety.

This is HardEight's last chance before I ban him.

You're a nice guy, and so was Alan, as far as that goes. But you know what they say about nice guys. All we need is another postmortem.

It all comes down to posting stuff of real and practical monetary value. So far, no one on any gambling forum has even tried. Not even any of the real science behind gambling. Even a few of the so-called experts have had bitter online disputes over their earnings, etc. The "nutty professor" stuff of Eliot Jacobson, eg, https://apheat.net/2014/07/18/the-wo...etting-system/ , has to be another scam. I feel sorry for the guy. He can't stop churning that stuff out. (Be good to yourself, Eliot. Take a walk along the beach, grab an ice-cream cone or chocolate bar, and tell yourself to stop it.) Sure, go play poker while the casino rakes in at least 5% of each and every pot. If you can still find yourself with a greater advantage than 10% over one or two of the other players, I guess that makes you some sort of hustler or setup guy. Until the day someone else does the same to you.
