Thread: Hit the "ALL" twice this past weekend

  1. #1
I hit the "ALL" twice this past weekend. Both at Caesars and my first time hitting the ALL at Caesars which started the Small, Tall, All just two months ago. I also hit the Small once and the the Tall once. Another player at my table also hit the ALL. Other players hit the Small or Tall a couple more times.

What happened the first time I hit the ALL is the reason why I am posting this.

I had the dice for about ten minutes when I had three numbers remaining to be hit: the 11, 5 and 8. Remember that: the 11, 5 and 8.

I threw the 11, and then when I threw the 5 I was paid for the Small. Now, only one number on the layout remained "unmarked" and it was the 8. Remember that, one number remained unmarked and it was the 8.

I kept throwing: I hit an 11 twice, and then a 10 and then 4 and then another 4.

I looked at the layout and said out loud -- "I need an 8. I need an 8."

And then I stopped cold and said "but the point is eight! I have the eight!"

Yes -- all this time I had already established the point of 8 BUT THE DEALERS DIDN'T MARK IT on the layout.

Only one other player was on the Bonus bets and he yelled out "he's right, he's right."

The dealers stopped cold. We called a floorman because there was no floorman at the table. He looked, saw that the point was 8 and said "pay them."

Bottom line: you have to be sure the numbers get marked.

What an experience! Good thing you were alert (and the coincidence of being the current point). I am glad they did not back up the tape just to make sure. How much did you have on the ATS bets?

I have a similar story -- but dealing with a lot less money.

Last summer I was at Harveys' at Lake Tahoe at the craps table. I had $5 on the Fire bet and because I had lost money, in addition I only was on the passline. There weren't a lot other numbers hit but the passline was hit on four unique numbers. I believe I and maybe one other player was on the Fire Bet. The puck was a repeat fire bet number when the shooter sevened out. Immediately the dealer on the left swept the passline bets into the "Come" area and mucked the Fire Bets too. I then yelled "Wait! Pay the Fire Bets!." The dealer then stopped and looked embarrassed. The special Fire Bet pucks were still out on the layout. The pit who was watching (I guess they usually appear when 4 Fire Bets are hit to monitor progress) then had the Fire Bets set up again. They remembered I had $5 -- and we were paid.

But if I was not paying attention I would have been out $125.

Welcome back Alan. I like your posts because they are informative. I was a bit sorry that you left because of trolls.
Those are pretty good rolls. It seems like you roll quite well for a "non-professed DI." I remembered you had said that you have rolled a 6 FB before as well. Do you always bet these bets on everyone or just yourself? Do you set the dice (knowing that it's likely to be random once it hits the pyramid)?

The moral of the story is if you are betting the STA you have to watch the dealers. Marking the numbers rolled is often overlooked. And I mean often.

I now bet $25 on the STA when I roll, even when I am at a $10 table and just betting the minimum. I hit the ALL four times at Bellagio with $25 on STA twice, and twice with $5 on the STA. When others are shooting I always have $5 on the STA. Always. It just hits too frequently.

What's rough is when there is a come-out 7 during the roll that wipes out the STA bets. That actually happened to me at Bellagio when I hit the STA with $25 on each. I had all the numbers except the 2 and 12 and on a come-out rolled a 7. I had to replace the STA and I got it the second time on that same hand. But that game was a $25 game so losing the $75 on the STA the first time on a winner-7 didn't hurt that much.

Playing at $10 and losing $75 on the STA with a winner-7 hurts a lot.

I always set the dice. I always try a controlled, easy throw with the dice parallel to the table with a soft toss to the center of the back wall.

Do I control the dice? NO. Does it hurt to try? No.

Do I get lucky sometimes? Yes.

I make no claims about being a dice influencer or a dice controller. I only say that if craps is truly a random game it doesn't hurt to try.

Alan, thanks for the replies. When I or a friend roll, I bet $5 FB, when others roll I bet $2. With the ATS I use a $1/2/1 system ($2 on the all). That way if a 7 hits I win $1. I can't envision betting 5/5/5 on the ATS much less 25 each. You go Alan.
I also set the dice 3V set or the 2V set. I shoot from the end of the table and only focus on how nice the dice comes off my hand with backspin and that's it--no expectations, just hopes and dreams.

    Congratulations on the double hit.

I've had to get the dealers to mark a roll lots too. Another reason I like the fire bet better.

I can't imagine that you'd really prefer the Firebet.

I like the fire bet better for two main reasons.

1 it is cheaper for me since it only requires one bet per shooter and I'm a low roller.

2 I hate when during a come roll, you have a bunch of numbers on the STA and they get a 7 winner, the table cheers but you lose all the progress. I like that the fire bet is in line with the pass line since I'm primarily a pass line player.

STA does hit more often and I usually only play the All to keep the cost down.

Let me make a suggestion: with $10 on the pass bet $3 on each STA.

Going to Harrahs Tahoe tomorrow for the weekend. Does anyone know if the ATS bet is in any of the south shore casinos?

  13. #13
There are no STA bets on any layouts here in S. Tahoe at this time.

When you mean S Lake Tahoe do you include Montblue and Hard Rock too? Do Harrahs and Harvey's have Fire Bets?

Harrahs, Harvey's and Hard Rock have Fire Bets. Montblue had something called Hot Shooter or Hot Roll, something like that. Basically it started paying when you got two large buttons on two different numbers. For instance if you rolled a 6/2 - 8 they place a small button on that sequence. Then you would also have to roll a 5/3 and 4/4 - 8 to get the large button on that number. 7 works on come outs. Did not hit the two times I played there. Didn't really care for it.

To win the grand prize do you have to throw all 36 combinations of the dice before you seven out?

No, it just pertained to the six point numbers if I recall and the different ways you can make each point number. It started paying after you got two large buttons or two numbers all ways. The pay off on two numbers is 5 to 1 on up to the six point number and to be honest I don't remember what the odds were. One other thing, you and I know that there are five ways to make an eight, but one "only" needs the three unique ways (5-3, 6-2, 4-4) to get the large button and complete that number. So I guess the grand prize would be achieved after hitting all 14 different ways of the six-point numbers. The come out sevens kill you.

Is there a website for this bet dannyj? I'd love to know the details.

Thanks dannyj. I'd like to try that if a Vegas casino had it.
