Thread: Aggressive Craps pressing strategy--yours and others that you have seen

What's the most aggressive pressing strategy that you have witnessed? I have seen a double press on the 6/8 ($18 to $42 to $90)--that's the same as $60 to $150 to $300-- before the first profit is taken. I have seen the 4 pressed from $25 to $75 to $150 (take back $75).
Personally I would press the 4/10 to $25 then start taking profits. On the 6/8 I would press as a tandem (either from $12 each or $18 each) until I get to $24. Then I would press the number hit ($24 to $30 to $42)
On the 5/9. I would press to $25, then take $35. Then press to $35, then press to $50.

    4/10:
$25 to $80 to $250 going up separately

    5/9:
    $25 to $60 to $150 separately

    6/8:
    $30 to $66 to $150 separately

Or just do $90 on 6&8. When one hits, press both to $150 by dropping $15. When one hits, drop $5 and press both to $240. (If all you got left is $200 and walking out the casino a loser, could try this as a hail-Mary.)

I have seen people press and press and never take a profit. They ended up going bust.

I have tried multiple different ways to press. My current press strategy is if the 6/8 is the point, I will do a take/press/take/press strategy ($18 collect $21, press to $42, collect $49, press to $90). If my pass line with odds hit early, I will be a little bit more aggressive with my press. In that case it will be press/take/press/take ($18 to $42, collect $49, press to $90, press to $102). I hardly every aggressively press the 5/9.

My standard is $200 10--press to $500. At the $500, I take same bet unless it comes hard in which case I go to $1,000 as I have a $50 hard way. Similar approach up to table limit.

6 and 8 I go $150--same bet--$300--$510--$600. But if it comes hard, I essentially skip that step.

5 and 9 are not my numbers and I go pretty much every other full press.

In the old days when I was a shooter, if I was down to my last $300 or so, I would wait for my roll and place the 9 for $300. Press to $700. Hit at $700--take the 1680 and down and live to play another session.

I don't recommend any of this to anyone unless you have some dice throwing ability.

$1,680 and down? Why not lay the 8 for $1,500? Haha.

I know a player who would do a $5 yo, parlay to $80, if it hit again, do $1,280 and down, then lay the 6 for $1,200. If he'd been doing well enough while playing, he'd throw the dealers on it too (for the full $5->$80->$1,200 lay). Dealers never hit one, though. :-(

On those plays alone Regnis, you should be VIP in anyone's book. I am not enamored with the hardways...yet. It might be coincidental but every time I toss a hardway bet, the shooter would 7 out.

Not technically a press, but on my last trip:

I was shooting and a woman had decided to leave during my roll. She put all her money on the field. The field had been doing well. I told her she was going to get a 12 and I put down a craps bet. I should have put my money where my mouth was. Then I tossed the dice and there was the 12. She was very happy. And after a hug goodbye she wisely took her money.

I rarely press. But when I do press it happens ONLY after I have won back, and put back in my rail, a decent profit on my original outlay. As an example:

If I am at a $25 table and bet all the numbers across, that's an outlay or $130 or $135.
I have a $25 passline bet plus double odds, that's an outlay of $75.
At this point I have already put on the table, let's say, $210.

If I have won back my original $210 plus another $200 I will start to press. I press slowly. I might press one number, then take the next win, and then press the next number that hits.

In hindsight there have been plenty of rolls when I wished I started pressing from the very first roll. But there have also been plenty of times when a shooter made three rolls and then a 7-out.
