Thread: True Dice Influencing Report

  1. #1
I'm starting this thread so that those of us who play craps can report when we have seen a true Dice Influencer in action.

In my life I have seen two, and maybe three, true dice influences. The last time I was at a table with a true DI was more than a year ago.

If I see another one I will post a report here. I'm sure there are others but I've played with maybe hundreds or even thousands of others at craps and have seen two and maybe three true DIs.

Well, I wouldn't expect to hear of many reports about TRUE dice influencers. As I mentioned, in all my years playing craps I've only seen three and of those three only two had me convinced. The third I'm leaning towards believing he had the touch.

What I wouldn't want to see here is two dozen posts about DIs shooting all over town.

I saw a guy once that I thought maybe. It was a couple years ago.

He wasn't betting much. Then on this shot he bet box cars. Hit. He bet again. Hit.

He took a while to set and seemed to have a controlled throw. Maybe it was luck, but... maybe, just maybe...

I think Alan's trying to start up more drama with his BS.

Just wait a couple weeks or a month, sooner or later he'll post up about his son hitting 4 royals on single line VP in 24 hours, and pretend to make a discussion out of it, really just trying to stir the pot.

Alan, no one believes your nonsense.

Okay. RS__ has never seen a true DI. I accept that because I think there are very few who can do it.

I'm curious about what you said here. First, "he took a while to set." Are you talking about the time spent to arrange the dice? Because, frankly, anyone who has ever attempted DI can tell you it only takes a couple of seconds to arrange the dice. I've seen people arranging and re-arranging their dice on the table -- spending ten seconds or longer doing it -- and they weren't DIs. They were just going thru some "ritual" or thinking that how they arranged the dice BY ITSELF would make a difference.

I am more interested in how you would describe the "controlled throw" because that is the key. You have to have a controlled throw so that the dice don't bounce around too much. If the dice aren't traveling together and rotating together and hitting the table together, and everything else together it is not going to work.

And you fell for the bait! :-)

Best to just ignore it from now on.

Is Frank Scobete one of the three players you've witnessed to be true DI Alan?

I've never played with Frank. Don't know how he shoots.

    The three I've seen:

    1. A surgeon from state of Washington. Played with him at Caesars several times.
    2. Unidentified man at Caesars several years ago. Saw him once only.
    3. The third is a "maybe" because his rolls had all the appearance of being controlled but his turns with the dice didn't last long enough.

With 1 and 2 repetition of the same form is what's convincing.

Frank would say he influenced his great grandmother if it meant another $2.50 in book royalties. Come on. Why another round of this nonsensical baloney once again?

I didn't intend this thread to be a discussion about whether or not DI was possible. I meant it for one purpose only: if you saw a DI in action report it. As I mentioned in all of my years of playing craps -- and it's about 20+ years -- I've only seen two and possibly three.

We've had other threads on this forum about the possibility or impossibility of DI. This one is just about accounts of seeing a DI in action.

Rob Singer: people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You have your own critics to contend with.

RS___: you claim to be a dealer. You probably have only been a dealer for a few years and in "starter casinos." I think it's very unlikely you ever saw a DI in action in your few years of experience. After all, I'm probably twice your age and I've only seen three (two for certain). Even I say there are very, very few who really can influence the dice with any kind of success or regularity.

jbjb: I have no idea what your story is except that your full time occupation is sitting in casinos and I hope you don't also live in your car. I don't think you even play craps because you're too busy scouring the casinos for abandoned multipliers on Ultimate X machines and then waiting for fumbling dealers to show up for their shifts.

Since none of you have ever observed a DI (and I concede you probably won't in your lifetimes) talk about something else.
