Thread: Do you believe casinos use loaded dice?

Do you believe Vegas casinos use loaded or unfair dice? Do you believe dice throws and results are rigged?

It appears that at least one well-known member of the Wizard's forum must believe that dice games are rigged in one way or another and they are not truly random. In fact, in a recent post he made an allegation that there was at least one incident of non-random (rigged) dice being played.

The comment was made in yet another discussion of how I was at a table at Caesars when a random shooter (no attempt at dice influencing or dice control) threw 18 elevens in a row. At least twice during this incredible run of Yos the stickman stopped to examine the dice and nothing unusual was found.

There were three of us at the table -- and none of us had even $1 bet on the yo. I only bet the yo on the second roll (and will continue if it hits) and I have a horn-high-11 bet on the come-out if I have $25 on the passline. But the point was already established and we were beyond the second roll with this shooter.

Why didn't I bet the yo after the first one? Because it's basically a "bad bet." Any "math guy" will tell you that.

Yet... I was criticized for not betting an 11 after so many Yos were thrown.

In the latest post this comment was made:

"not betting it after # 10 in a row has to be one of the dumbest gambling mistakes ever made in the history of gambling, because it dam well wasn't random."

In retrospect, not betting it after the second yo was the dumbest gambling mistake I ever made -- but that's not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is the line that says "because it dam (sp) well wasn't random."

For the 18 Yos in a row not to be random means something crooked was going on with the dice.

This is not the first time that someone on the Wizard's forum has alleged that casinos use rigged or unfair or off balance dice.

I believe the dice are fair and of course if they are not then it could be a criminal act. I think allegations of unfair dice either must be moderated more carefully or posted along with proof. To allege casinos are using unfair dice should not be left unquestioned or unchallenged.

From what I've observed at these tables, only the players are loaded. Noisiest place in the casino.
