Thread: Caesars promotes Uber with $20 discount card

  1. #1
I found it interesting that Caesars gives its guests a $20 discount card for Uber when they check in. I'm sure the taxi companies are not happy about it.

I wrote about it on my website here: http://alanbestbuys.com/id240.html

Uber pays a bonus to the card giver when the a new customer signs up and takes ten paid rides. Anyone can pass out those cards if they are an Uber person, driver or rider. They have a serial # which is attached to your bank account.
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

I am sure Caesars makes money from this. There is no reason for Caesars to promote Uber unless it did make money.

The "surprise" is that it is alienating other taxi companies. And the other cab companies could just as easily start telling their drivers to promote clubs and restaurants not associated with Caesars.

I just made a reservation for next week at Harrahs Tahoe. The confirmation email came with a notification saying there'd be a $20 Uber coupon waiting for me at check-in.

I don't use Uber and never will. They undercut taxis with unvetted/unknown drivers, and they cater to drunks and yuppies trying to show off the latest "fad". I don't take Uber OR taxis because I never drink when driving somewhere, and I rent cars when I go places I don't want my new car man-handled by some pimply-faced valet.

One of my best friends' son in Virginia is an Uber driver, and at 34 he still lives at home. He's also queer. What a surprise.

Hey, Rob. I'll drive that Charger for ya! With tender loving care!. Saw a black one yesterday. Sounded like thunder when it passed.

It's got a valet mode which I always use when valet parking. Never trust those clowns, never leave a thing of value in it, and if they scratch or mess up your car, just accept it and deal with it when you get home. Or....you could obsess over the loss of a few hundred dollars or whatever, make a dozen calls figuring the hotel "owes" you, and spend weeks worrying over stupid vehicle damage.

But if you left a bottle of Gatorade in it and it's half gone when you get your car---if you sit at the live poker tables, all bets are OFF!

Jason's had his car in the valet at Bellagio. His iPod was stolen. No problem. Jason made one phone call. Bellagio reimbursed him for a new iPod.

But Rob Singer always turns the other cheek. Really, Rob?

Rob lives in a fantasy world where he makes $100k per year (for 10 years) playing -EV video poker, and shrugs off any relatively small monetary injustice because he is so rich and so even-tempered that it would be a poor use of his time and energy to fight for it.

Now if we only could see a REAL day in the life of Rob Singer...

    Anyway, back on topic...

Rio has an Uber stop, in between the Ipanema Tower and the parking structure next to the Ipanema Tower.

I was surprised to see that this summer. It's actually a stop labeled for Uber.

It's not a very convenient location, though. You'd have to know it's there in order to be there. Everyone else passing it already has a car in the parking lot.

When I saw it, I knew Caesars had some partnership with Uber.

Yes, really. There's those who like live hassles and those who just move on, understanding that things tend to even out over one's lifetime...and that no one will care about it 100 years from now.

Dan, your answer to everything I say is "he's rich and money is no object". What you REALLY mean is that with your life of having some "girlfriend" and a so-called "son", you're wondering why you've squandered your relationships and I haven't. That's where my true wealth lies, and not in the fact that I live a normal, comfortable middle-class life and am in no way rich. And everything about YOU screams conflict and animosity, which is why you don't see what a mess you make of yourself every time (which is likely most every day) you get into a rift with someone over the phone (because cowards always avoid face-to-face or they use someone else to do their dirty work).

A REAL day in my life wouldn't really interest you. It consists of relaxing with REAL FAMILY or travelling in cars you'd criticize as "elitist"--and most of that travel does not include going to casino destinations.

Now back on topic: I could tell you were a Uber fanatic from hundreds of miles away.....

Rob couldn't get more incorrect if he tried.

I am not an Uber fanatic. I've never used Uber. Not sure where you are getting that. Probably the same place you get your ideas that "money management" strategies can allow you to beat the casinos.

You say I've "squandered" my relationships. I am with the same woman since 2009, and have a son with her. Exactly what have I squandered?

You say I would criticize cars as "elitist". Huh? I drive an expensive car myself.

Care to make any other totally incorrect guesses about me?

Rob Singer: Jason worked hard for his money, trusted the valet, had his car opened and the iPod removed while trusting the valet to keep his car safe. Bellagio accepted the liability and paid for the replacement. It took one call from Jason.

You, it appears, want him and everyone else, to take it on the chin and walk away after being hurt, ripped off or otherwise damaged? Sorry but the rest of us aren't weak pushovers like you. We stand up for our rights and our property. You are weak so you run and hide.

    Yes, Rob Singer is weak.

Man these old guys remain bitter and jealous. Driving a Dodge is "elitist"??? I'd hate to walk on his lawn.

I drive I-5 near the Sacramento Airport occasionally and the uber drivers are lined up on a frontage road to the airport. Usually 8-10 cars at any given time. We were in Vegas in July and there was a guy handing out coupons for uber discounts at the foot of the walkway from Ballys to the Cromwell.

It will be interesting to see how the taxi wars play out.

Alan, some older folks fear confrontation. It may be a generational thing, that's why so many scams target the elderly.

You were an investigative reporter, it's in your blood to be a thorn in the side of corporations that don't do the right thing. Your son has probably picked up the same trait.

    Not everyone has that ability.

The only person I know who wouldn't file a claim for an injury or an accident or a theft is "video poker strong man" Rob Singer.

He collapses when it comes to speaking up for his rights.

We have the same problem with my grandmother, she is afraid of any sort of confrontation and doesn't like to "rock the boat". Our fear is there are so many predatory scams out these SOB's are so brazen, that her inability to speak up for herself may get her in trouble.

All this time, I wasn't aware that use or non-use of Uber had deep socio-political ramifications and life-value correlations.

Perhaps someone could point me to some studies regarding this topic. I'm sure I'll find them fascinating.

Rob's "opining" here. The great thing about opining is that it doesn't have to be accurate in any way. It can just be whatever comes out of your mouth at the moment. As long as you don't say, "I have evidence" or "I know," then one can feel free to say whatever one wants.

If I were channeling arci here, I'd probably say something like "Rob's capitalization of REAL FAMILY suggests that someone close to him is in dire straits or he has had some serious friction with his nuclear family recently." But that would be me channeling arci doing opining regarding Rob. And opining is what people do who don't really know anything, so I try to avoid that.

In my opinion, someone on here is trying waaaaay too hard to appear normal. In my opinion, the use of the word "queer" is the dead giveaway. All in my opinion of course.

  20. #20
"Queer" is Rob's way of not allowing current verbal fashion to impose its will on him, when "queer" was a perfectly good word for a hundred years. I actually think it's more a pushback by him against political correctness than an overt aggression, but I could be wrong.

I roll my eyes at "African-American" the same way sometimes, mainly because I lived in a 95% black neighborhood for some years, and "African-American" is a lot of syllables.
