Thread: Laughable "free phone" offer for Seven Stars

  1. #1
    Got this e-mail today:

Subject: Exclusive for Seven Stars members: Select your FREE Android Smartphone now!

    Name: freedroid.jpg
Views: 1012
Size: 70.3 KB

The suspicious part was "Feel free to forward to friends and family!"

Huh? I thought this was "exclusive" for Seven Stars?

    Here's the link:

So you end up getting some year-old-model smartphones (like the Samsung Galaxy S6, retail $399), but you need to activate service to get the phone for free.

So this isn't an "exclusive offer" of any type. This is your typical "activate on a 2-year plan and get the phone free" deal which we've seen everywhere in the cell phone industry for the past 20 years.

I understand that Caesars has plenty of marketing partnerships, but this one is particularly obnoxious because they are hassling their best customers (Seven Stars) with bogus "exclusive free" offers which are actually available to everyone.

Could you picture the Wynn sending garbage like this to their top tier players?

Dan just about every week I get email offers for concert and sport event tickets around the country... that must be bought. Caesars has turned over its email lists to outside marketing companies.

Remember those promotions for bonus Tier points if you update your email address? This is why we got those bonuses.

This one is a lot worse than the stupid concert and ticket offers, as at least those are straightforward and offering something for purchase with RCs.

This "exclusive free" offer is nonsense, and is neither exclusive nor free.

    A new low.

Are you going to burn (cut up) your Seven Stars card in protest? LOL

But remember, you trigger a gaming day if you have Total Rewards re-print you another card.

Also, is Mountain Standard Time (UTC-7:00) the forum default now?

Ha. Funny pic. I don't believe you did it, though.

I need to fix the settings. I think the site is stuck on daylight savings time.

I'm more interested in your statement regarding triggering a gaming day if you have TR print a new card.

    So how does that work?

If I earn 5000 TC from 12pm-5pm (and therefore earn 10,000 bonus TC), can I have them print me a new card, then immediately go play another 5000 TC and earn another 10,000 bonus?

The belief is that any casino activity shows as a gaming day and will add a day to your number of days for figuring your averages including daily theoretical. So if you stop by Total Rewards to print a card without playing it is supposed to dilute your averages by adding a casino day.

If you recall my card number was erroneously entered at a roulette game with a $100 buy in about a year ago which dramatically reduced my Theo and caused a huge cut in offers for six months. Not only do I not play roulette but I wasn't even in Vegas when this happened. My host was unable to correct it. Once any activity shows it can't be removed.

This is why some players carefully watch the clock for each casino play day and will stop all activity by the clock so not to trigger another play day.

Well, I think you reported this on a PFA radio show this past summer; remember when you mentioned the Cromwell has a 24 hour Total Rewards center?

As Mr. Mendelson said, it triggers a no-play gaming day and affects your ADT.

But what about check-out day at a CET property? Getting swiped in at the Diamond Lounge? Darryl McEwen says no ADT trigger for both instances.
