I received an email today from Total Rewards reminding me of offers that I have not redeemed yet including Diamond Aspirations one and two.

I think you might be able to get RCs in exchange for the Diamond Aspirations 2 trip you aren't taking.

Anyone know the answer to this one?

There is a $500 folio credit with #2 so even if I don't use the airfare I can use the folio credit for meals in Vegas.

You are correct which explains why I haven't redeemed this yet.

So they give you nothing for turning in the $750 and not using it?

    That's kinda lousy.

I'm not sure what you mean here? Are you saying that Caesars should give you something if you don't use an offer? I get plenty of offers that I never use. Are you saying you should be compensated for every offer you don't take?

In November and December I had two offers for $500 free play. I couldn't go to Vegas for the dates in the offers. Are you saying I should be compensated in some way because I couldn't take advantage of their free play offers for specific dates?

Getting back to Diamond #2... there is a $750 airfare comp. I choose not to fly to another casino. I don't see why Caesars has to give me any compensation for that.

The entire Diamond Aspiration trip, including $750 airfare, was exchangable for 35,000 Reward Credits. All you had to do was e-mail Total Rewards support to get the RCs credited.

In fact, it was printed in the 2016 Seven Stars rules and regulations fine print earlier in the year (January): https://www.totalrewards.com/sevenstars/rules-2016.

Total Rewards decided to renege on the exchange option, quietly deleting that paragraph.

Alan, do you think this is fair or a breach of contract? Remember two years ago, Seven Stars members earned 1 Experience Credit for every 50,000 tier credits? And they ran out of $500 Total Rewards Discover gift cards (the most popular redemption item). I could understand if it's an inventory issue, first come first serve. But to give you the option to exchange your Aspiration trip, then renege on that- did they run out of Reward Credits?

I exchanged my Seven Stars trip for $500 worth of Reward Credits and I did it immediately. Had I known that the Diamond #2 was exchangeable also I would have done it.

Do I think it's a breach of contract? No. Because Total Rewards can change its rules, program, etc and it is so stated. Am I happy about changes? No. But it's their game and they make the rules.

Am I happy that the $500 free play offers in November and December were available only on certain dates? No. But again it's their game and they make the rules.

The bigger question is am I happy with the Total Rewards program? The answer is yes. Do I squeeze every dime out of it I can? No. But I don't know of a better rewards plan.

On the other hand, sometimes I get things that happily surprise me. Soon I will be receiving what I call the "ultimate comp." I am not going to discuss it until I have it -- but it's something no other casino company could give me.

By the way I did have an "ultimate comp" before when I had a wedding at a craps table, organized by Caesars, with a videographer and a still photographer and they even found a Rabbi to do it. (And that roll of the dice lasted about 7 years, too.)

By the way, Nerakil, I am more upset that they no longer have robes and body wash and disposable slippers and chocolate coins at bedtime in the rooms. Now that really sucks.

    Hi Alan:

I realize you may not want to fly at all due to your schedule, but you could fly to Vegas with that airfare comp. $750 may be enough to a roundtrip flight from SoCal to Vegas for two. Alternatively, you could fly to any city with a Ceasars casino, whether or not you decide to stay in a Casino hotel. You just need to make an initial hotel booking when you get your tickets issued. I have used my $750 airfare comp just to visit relatives in Chicago.

Fab thanks for the suggestion but it is far easier for me to drive to Vegas than to fly because I don't have the "down time" of arriving early to park, going thru security, and waiting for luggage and the limo ride to the hotel. Besides, when I drive my own car I can leave when I want to.

Here's a story about one of the last times I flew to Vegas:

I went up on a Memorial Day weekend just so Jason could get a free room for him and his girlfriend. But I was in Vegas the weekend before and to be honest, my budget for this second trip... just a week later... was very limited. As fate would have it, I lost my budgeted amount the first night, but since Jason had his room for the rest of the weekend, I could leave the next morning... except I couldn't. Since it was Memorial Weekend the flights were sold out Saturday and Sunday and I couldn't leave until my reserved flight on Monday. Yikes, what a disaster.

But I got lucky. The next morning I went to a roulette wheel -- the only time in my life I played roulette.

I bet $20 on black and it hit. I then had $40 on black and it hit again. I moved the $80 to red and it hit.

    I now had $160.

I went to a $10 craps table and bought in for $160 just as a new shooter got the dice. The new shooter went on to have a monster... and my initial $52 across turned into more than a thousand dollars in my rail. And the rest of my trip was saved.

Your hosts may vary, but you can get them to book a refundable ticket or a Southwest ticket (which offers free changes/cancellations). Then if you can't make the trip, just cancel and use the credits another time. (With Southwest, you could book the most expensive flight you can find, then later change to a cheaper fare and get credit for the difference.)

Trickier on a 7 Stars trip since you'd lose the $500 resort credit if you no-show at the property. But you could at least book a companion to fill out the $1200 benefit, then cancel the companion, then have the companion book a future trip for you under their refunded credits.

Additionally, depending on host again, you can book first class as well as book more than the one companion that they state in t&c. All as long as it's under $750 or $1200 (including their Passport agency fees).

In other words, Alan, don't waste your benefit! We've all earned it after the grueling gambling road to 80k and 150k tier points.

I don't think that would work for Southwest on a flight booked through Ceasars captive travel agent. When I went on the Ceasars Aspiration 2 or Seven Stars air flights, they booked it under some code which did not allow me to change them.

If you have other personal experience, please let me know.

So in other words, when you fly to Vegas, you turn toothpicks into lumber yards at the tables! All the more reason to fly!

I'd like to take credit but... I didn't spin the wheel or shoot the dice for those wins. LOL

FAB, yes I've done both via Southwest. Both were Southwest flights booked by a host (it said something like WILLIAM HARRAHS as the booking agent). I've successfully cancelled a flight via their app and was given the amount in Southwest credits. And I've successfully changed a flight to a cheaper one by calling them (unable to do it online), also receiving the difference in Southwest credits.

I did not try to make a phone call. I only tried online. Thanks for the info. Did you call Southwest or the booking agent?

Alan, you might be able to get that $350 for the unused Aspiration trip, even if it is no longer available.

If you play enough, your host might be able to get you a courtesy $350 RC credit.

I advise you to tell the host that you know people who got it early in the year. If they ask you to name them, say that you don't want to because you're afraid they will lose it, but that they can check with corporate and see that was an option in early 2016.

I agree it isn't breach of contract, because there is no contract. This is a rewards program which they can change or remove at any point.
