Thread: $50k daily coin-in isn't enough to secure comp room at Harrah's Tahoe at 9/6 JoB

I still think you over over-analyzing the whole thing, even after reading your post above.

I think they have a policy for up to five free nights at a time... and that's it.

I would think that if you're some whale they're going to give you all the free nights you want. But you say you are overcomped and your tier points played don't make you a whale.

So honestly... from a guy who already claims to be overcomped... what the heck do you want?????

So say you you're doing 50k coin. They know you're just doing it to get the bonus and to gather all the benefits of 7Stars.

The theoretical loss may be $230 minus the $40 in R.C.. That's $190 plus any expenses of the avg. comp'd drinks, and all their overhead, supplying food at the diamond lounges and the 60 waters. I mean there are expenses. Lots of little things add up.

I'm not sure about the price of a room there. Lets say it's $100. I mean I guess they can make a tiny bit, but knowing they're going to give you Aspiration and 7Star meals and other benefits they're not making any money.

You don't probably value the suites on what they charge, but people do pay that much for those rooms. Players are just used to not having to pay for them, so they don't give the room as much value as what they're worth.

For me I like a nicer room if they're going to give it. It's a nice feel to have a nice suite, but I don't pay for rooms either. I'm frugal in that way and prefer to spend on other things. Anyways, I'm just saying getting comped suites for 5 days at that amount of theoretical is pretty nice.

I also understand what you mean about the person that doesn't play, but usually those are the people that will dust off more and not try to bonus everything up when they do play and still might spend on other things and it's good advertising to get more people in. I'd rather comp out 3 different people a couple nights than one person 6. Obviously there's a lot of factors.

Anyways, I was going to play the 50 play and there was a couple sitting there that was 7Stars not playing and kind of just letting time go by. Very sweet couple. After you said time in I laughed because I thought they may put that in their calculation after what I saw.... I'm wondering how that works. I heard there's something like that with V.P. at bars. It's not about coin in, it's about how much coin in a certain amount of time and then a light turns on and then it turns off after so much time and then you have to put a certain amount of coin in again. You can't just put a ton of coin and then be comped all night where someone else does like two pulls every 15 min. as is comped drinks all night or something like that.

Anyways, I have a lot of questions. I just became 7Stars and would love any insight on getting the best value out of it. If you have any links send them my way

You're probably right about the bars with the red/green light thing to indicate free drinks. That's probably a function of both time and coin-in. I imagine that once the light goes green, it stops calculating earnings for drinks. Once you get your drink and the bartender turns it red, then it calculates again. Or at least that's how I imagine it works.

I still don't believe that time played is a factor in VP-related comps, except perhaps when hosts eyeball your play history and make a subjective decision as to what to give you.

I didn't get a suite on my last Tahoe trip. I did get 10 comped nights, but let's just say that it wasn't easy to manage, despite the fact that I was getting beat down at 9-6 JoB.

At Harrah's Tahoe, a bartender told me that a blue light confirms to the bartender that there is money in the machine. A solid light of a different color (forgot which color) shows that the player has put in enough action for another drink. A blinking light of that color, indicates that the player has put in sufficient action that you can just keep shoveling drinks to the player. I don't drink too much when I play, but I did like playing video poker at the Harrah's Highlander Bar because the bartender has access to the buffet kitchen and can get fresh eggs to use egg whites in making traditional whiskey sours.

Precisely. No use butting heads with a brick wall particularly thru a host and any prior committment. Won't happen.

For years most Vegas casinos had limits simply on the theory that fresh blood meant fresh money. Its simply the way it is.
