I just got a report that the new Boyd accountants have restricted the "Young at Heart" program to a few zip codes. Out-of-staters are now not eligible, ostensibly due to $2 million in comp payouts to out-of-state Young at Hearters last year.

Not sure what to make of this. Two million in comp payouts is free play and food comps, so I'm not sure what the actual loss might be. I probably play 70% of my Boyd on Young at Heart days, so that would end for me. I simply shift my play to the odd multiplier day and reduce it. I have no issue with not playing.

One thing it does point out is that those over 50 who restricted their play to Young at Heart days and other heavy promo days were "doing the correct thing" in that they were doing what the casino did not want them to do.

That is one maxim Rob Singer has correct.
