Thread: "Betty" on a Rampage

I have to report this. My girlfriend, who tied for first in the season-long Heritage Sports Race to the Super Bowl contest last season, is currently sitting in the top 30 out of a couple thousand in the Heritage bracket contest. Wow.

Care to translate? Right now, all I understand is that you've hooked up with another gambler. That usually doesn't end well.

What is the Heritage Bracket Contest and can you provide us a link to this organization?

It's some sort of foreign online gambling site....the type that addicts who can't get to US casino locations often enough to curb their insatiable habit, throw money into. And just as red has never supported any of his sports betting claims or identity here, his "friend" could be anybody from anywhere....or nobody from nowhere.

    Here's your chance red--

The Heritage Sports bracket contest requires you to rank the teams from 1 to 64. Each game a team wins earns the correlative points. For example, your top team winning its first game earns you 64 points. Your second team winning its first game earns you 63 points and so on. It's the most skill-based bracket contest I've seen, as it requires some fine judgements and comprehensive planning for who will win what games down the road.

Anyway, "Betty" is sitting 19th after yesterday.

Not sure what Rob means by supporting my "identity" as I have offered to meet him and Alan on multiple occasions. But I'm sure Rob's happy "Betty" is beating me, as I am in 60th.

Rob also seems somewhat unaware that sports gambling can be done only in Nevada in this country. Rob, if you need a gambling refresher course, I'll be glad to provide a couple of hours lecture-time for a modest fee.

So it's free, no-money in the USA, and you bet real money overseas?

This website is a free play website, no real money transactions are allowed.

I tried to make an account last year on the real money Heritage Sports.

I got rejected because the phone # I provided is not in my name, because it's part of a family mobile plan.

I tried to explain this, and the person whose name it's in has the same last name as me, but they didn't care.

They are super paranoid over there. They don't want to let on anyone who is undercover law enforcement, so they have very (in fact overly) strict requirements as to what allows you to qualify for an account.

No Alan. These sportsbetting people have certain ways of getting their money into action if the site takes it from anywhere, regardless of where they are located. It's as ridiculous a place to be involved in as there is in the gambling world---only don't tell that to anyone who uses it.

Dan, do you have an Obamaphone?

Would getting an Obama phone be considered an advantage play?

Rob--just like Vegas was better when the mob was in control, most of these are mob run and they usually pay. Of course, there are some bad ones. But the mob still understands that when the odds are in your favor, they can treat you well and give you a fair game with decent odds. They don't have to cheat you. The corporate guys that now run the casinos don't get that.

Rob, I'm so glad you have expanded from being simply the best vp player in the world to unsurpassed expertise regarding the gambling world in general.

From the depths of my heart, congratulations. No one deserves to know everything more than you.

I can't figure why you or anyone would ever believe that online casinos and betting outfits would run a fair game. There is no fact behind such beliefs--it's only beliefs....and those who espouse that theory seem to be the ones who bet at those sites.

Yep, those off shore sites are cheating your asses off when it comes to sports betting.

Rob, do you ever actually think before you type?

Update: Heading into today, "Betty" is in 29th. I'm in 56th. She needs to get into top 20 to get more money. I need to crack the top 50 to get more money. Not much chance of either, I think. South Carolina beating Duke and Baylor basically kept us out of the top 10.
