Thread: First time I've seen this (hotel offer terms)

  1. #1
Just got an offer for free nights and an "upfront" retail gift card... except the first thing in the fine print is:

"Guest must play one hour at their historical average bet before receiving Upfront Gift Cards."

I don't believe upfront means what they think it means. Also, how does this even work for slots/VP? If I sit on a machine for an hour and play 10 hands, does that qualify?

    Hi Guy:

What casino did this come from? I do remember seeing Venetian's past offers having a condition "based on your historical play" or some such vague language. But I have never seen a "one hour" condition.

    FAB

I think "sitting" at the machine for one hour with occasional bets is NOT going to meet the conditions of the offer.

Frankly, I'm not surprised to see this kind of fine print. Comps and offers are getting harder to get. The casinos aren't stupid. Casino managers read forums like this.

Yeah, I always wonder how much of the info I should make public, if the managers are reading, that's why I didn't say the name of the casino.

Also, I only got this offer because I played for a few minutes at the tables, which is atypical for me. So if I play VP/slots instead, what do they consider my "average bet"? The whole thing just seems really open to interpretation.

I honestly don't think hosts are monitoring these forums where Biloxi Bill has a gay fixation with Coach and Rob and all the other nonsense that goes on in here.

But in answer to the question, it does say your historical average bet, so you can't just slow play for the hour. Can more easily slow play at craps that slots. Bet when the suit is watching; run to the john; order cocktails and miss a few rolls, etc.

I've seen players have a lot of money placed on the table with an OFF button in an attempt to fool to floorman. I can't tell you if this works or not.

The Rincon managers certainly monitored this forum. They made that clear to me when they blocked me from all mailers, stripped away my earned cash back, and blocked me from ever getting free play there again.

And that's why I have no problem telling people not to play there because they'll get a better deal at Pechanga where there is plenty of full pay video poker and it's a nicer casino with better dining options.

I received a few very modest offers from Boyd for gift cards with four-hours-of-play stipulations. When I called and tried to pin them down as to what was "really required," I was told that if I sat and played my usual vp for four hours, even if it was at half my normal speed, that would be fine.

I wish you actually had done that so we would have known the result.

Cmon, there's no mystery to this. It simply means you must put your avg. amount of money normally bet per hour thru the machines or else you don't qualify.

More nonsense--no casino hosts or managers read this or any other forum to "keep an eye" on what players might be saying. What a waste of time. Imagine them catching a few threads, only to realize that 98% of the posters use fake names....which obviously means these brave souls make up most of what they post! Then picture them reading a few of mickey's tales along with just one or two of RS__'s/jbjb's claims of super duper "edges" and we can all visualize them falling off their chairs laughing their asses off

    Too funny.....

Rob, they might be laughing their asses off but they read this and other forums. I know they do. And they'd be stupid not to read them, just as business owners read Yelp.

Business owners read yelp etc. because the reviews have proven to be from honest visitors with meaningful comments. Any serious businessman would never put this forum into his favorites. The amount of whining, bs, and hysterical moaning over being "cheated" out of a few bucks here and an "entitled" service there by a bunch of anonymous pukers, would instantly turn any successful businessman off, and send him to the porn sites where even women having orgasms are more believable.
