Thread: Hitting the back wall

  1. #1
Janet just asked me about using casino comps for a visit to the Washington DC area, so I was looking at the website for the Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore. I found their web page for their craps game.

In the explanation of the game it says:

An effort must be made to bounce both dice off of the wall at the end of the table.

This is actually the policy at other Caesars casinos that I've played at, including Caesars Palace. They don't require that both dice hit the back wall, only that an effort is made to get the dice to the back wall. Short rolls are not overlooked and the crew will warn a shooter who keeps making short rolls. But if you get both dice to the end of the table and one or both miss the back wall by an inch or two or three they're not going to give you grief about it.

This is the first time I ever saw "an effort must be made to bounce both dice off of the wall at the end of the table" on a casino website.

What do you mean by "using comps for a trip to DC"? You mean for the Balt. hotel stay/food? Can you use the CET rewards system for flights now?

By the way, Alan -- I've done a couple trips to Horseshoe Baltimore using my Aspirations offer.

It's a nice casino, but no hotel.

They have a few comped partner hotels, including a Holiday Inn right next door.

But I'd recommend the Westin. There's free shuttle service, and it's in the Inner Harbor.

If you rent a car, Westin will also waive their parking fees.

There is a $1200 air fare credit from Caesars that I can use in addition to the hotel comps and $500 folio credit. Janet has a convention/seminar in Washington she wants to attend. But she told me this morning the convention might be sold out.

if you do go to Baltimore... don't stray far from the casino at night.. that city has become a zoo... aka the inmates are running the asylum

    Alan:

So for the first time you are not going to let your Seven Stars Retreat flight expire without use? Janet must be a special girl.

Next thing you will tell us is that she wants to go on the NCL annual cruise for a honeymoon.

As a matter of fact... she loves the idea of taking the cruises. I ordered a replacement birth certificate just so I could get a new passport. I let my old passport expire and it's beyond the renewal window.

Yes, my life is different now.

I am not surprised that a wife alters one's "preferences." I have lived through that experience myself but when I got married I was much younger so my preference were quite malleable. Don't forget to give Janet information on the Seven Stars Atlantis offer in the Bahamas. Given your sea sickness, you may prefer that over a cruise.

    Sorry for the duplicate post.

That Atlantis Bahamas offer may "feel" great to people who piss away money at CET joints, but if you've ever been there you'd know the place is nothing but a dumping ground for obnoxious & germ-riddled Venezuelans, and Americans with a hoard of kids and no clue. In other words, ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for CET players trying so hard to justify their losses.

Last time I was at the Atlantis was about 17 years ago -- before they built the second, newer resort. It was a beautiful place even then, but if you didn't have a meal package you'd starve because food prices were so high. Frankly, I have no interest in returning to the Atlantis.

Of course it was and still is a beautiful place! That's what attracts every single one of those beer-gut/dark-skinned Venezuelan guys with the gold chains and their dicksonna/balldacity speedos. They think and expect the gals from Miami will bed down with them in a fancy room every night they're there.
