This was a first time event for me, so I thought I would write about it.

Last night Janet and I went to the Village Pub on Flamingo near the 95 freeway exit. Nice, small neighborhood bar. Quiet, clean, and excellent food. We just had the chicken soup which was made from scratch but Janel told me she and her friends go there quite often for the food.

I never knew this... until last night... but the drinks are free as long as you play some video poker at the bar top machines. If I recall, there were 12 machines.

I played 7/5 Bonus at 25-cents which beat what Caesars offers. Caesars has a 6/5 Paytable for its 25-cent games. Janet played DDB because Bonus was not available on her machine, and the paytable wasn't too bad.

The actual check came to $6 for the soups but because the kitchen was late getting them out, the bartender took 50% off, so we paid $3.

Janet lost $60 dollars at video poker. But I got lucky. I hit quads: 6s, 3s, Js and a bunch of full houses and finished up $100. I gave the bartender $20 to cover the $3 check and told him to keep the $17 as a tip. (Don't have a heart attack Rob, Janet usually goes there three nights a week.)

There is a players club at the bar, and it's connected with other bars. This particular bar is owned by the Cannery Casino. I joined the players club. What's interesting is that they don't give you an actual "card" but you log in with an account number and password. In my case, my account number was my driver license number, and my password is separate.

Before we went to that bar, we went to the opening game of the 51s AAA baseball team. Free tickets through one of those clubs she belongs to. Cashman field is a small stadium -- and there are no bad seats. No bleachers, no outfield seating. We were in the 12th row above first base and those seats were great. Parking was only $5.
