Thread: Best video poker at Caesars properties around the US

  1. #1
I made this thread on my other site, regarding the best Caesars VP at each property: http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...-around-the-US

Can you VP experts check this and let me know if any of my info is old/inaccurate?

Dan, that is a great and useful summary.

My only question is whether one should completely trust Native American casinos when considering pumping significant amounts of money through a place. I don't want to become overly paranoid, but I read some articles by Navajo journalists, and what struck me (although I guess I should have realized it) was that first amendment rights do not necessarily apply on Native American land.

What does this mean? Well, it means if there are casino shenanigans in terms of payouts, and the tribe tells you to not publicize it or tell anyone, you are breaking tribal law if you do.

I abstractly, intellectually understood that Native American lands are sovereign states in a sense, but it wasn't until I started thinking about the consequences of a lack of a first amendment that the true enormity of possible differences hit me.

Pretty sure Rio has $1 8/5 BP for $10 a TC. At least that's what my friend said when he played off his freeplay a few weeks ago. It's on a bank of 4, two machines on each side. If you're facing the cashier, turn to the left and go in the area in the back there, sorta. If you walk down the main walkway in that area, there's a bar to your left IIRC. The 8/5 BP is on the right, I think a bank or two back.

Had to delete some trolling here.

Please do not clutter this thread with BS.

Dan, that thread has had over 14,000 views. Where are they all coming from? I was thinking of putting a link to it on vpFREE. Is that okay?

I will say this for Cherokee, the first place on Dan's list. It is a nice property. It reminds me of Pechanga in many ways. The surrounding area is picturesque woodlands near the Smokey Mountains. The casino itself is spacious and clean with lots of community space, and the entertainment venue is beautiful.

It's in my neck of the woods, but it's honestly a pain to get to driving, as you've got to weave your way down some U-curve mountainsides.

Yes, mickey, go ahead and post it on vpFree or wherever else.

redietz, I also liked Cherokee. Nice property, good VP pay tables, and they have a cool feature for Seven Stars where they will deliver you free non-alcoholic drinks to your room, including name-brand soda.

I can understand how you find it a pain to drive there. It's not close to anything. For me it wasn't a big deal because it was part of a southern-US road trip starting in Atlanta and ending in Nashville.

First and foremost, outstanding thread beyond words. I can appreciate this even as a player who does not participate in Total Rewards slot club, the amount of effort it took to bring it together.

There is a slight change required for the Caesars Palace Las Vegas listing. It needs to be indicated that it is Spin Poker Super Times Pay rather than just Super Times Pay. The information that accompanies it however accurately describes the nature of the game.

The only improvement I can think of is to start adding ADT ratings to the games, but that information is hard to come by. Regardless, outstanding work again! Thank you for sharing!

Caesars Tahoe does not require you to play all 50 hands at the 50 plays. I believe the minimum bet is $12.50.

What does this mean, and how is it related to the thread title?

I'd like an explanation of this too, please. The way I understand multi hand games you can set them to bet just one coin.

I once told the story about an elderly couple at Rincon that was playing their 100-line video poker machine for one-coin, one-cent and they were dealt a royal flush. People were waiting for these people to leave so they could play the 100-line machine. I think there were half a dozen people who wanted to kill the couple.

Some casinos have minimum bets on their multi-hands games. IOW, you can't play one line, one credit on them.

This sounds odd. Some casinos have penny vp that you can bet 1 to 100 credits/hand. Why would a casino require any bet above 1 credit on ANY game? To the casino, a 1-credit bet is better than not playing. What's the rationale here?

Your guess is as good as mine. One location near me has 1¢ 100 play $5.00 max bet. You used to be able to play one line one credit or just one line five credits for the $40 royal. A few years ago, they made it $1.00 minimum. So now if you want to play it, you're forced to play 20 hands at a minimum. Cosmos high limit area has some minimum bet machines anyone in Vegas can check out. Don't know about other places.

Same reason why table games minimum's exist. If I owned a casino, I'd rather the machine be open for people to play real money....not for some guy to pop in a $1 bill and play for 5 hours, locking up the machine from someone who can dump thousands.

Cosmo's 25c/50c/$1 100-play has a $12.50 min bet. That machine could make a quarter million dollars for the casino in a night at $500/spin.

So you're required to bet a minimum of 10 hands?

What are the choices in number of hands to play?

Here's an example, posted last year in another forum, from Harrah's Tahoe:

The minimum bet amount is displayed in small print below the denomination symbol, next to the cash balance. This is a quarter game with a $10 minimum, so I assume you can choose any combination to bet at least 40 coins, but I don't know for sure.

You can bet from 8 to 50 hands. I usually play 20 hands for $25 per spin.

Thanks to bocce ball for the picture. The correct minimum is $10 not $12.50 as I said above. If you look under the "50" in the photo you'll see buttons for +1 hand and +10 hands. If you try to increase past 50 it will wrap around to 1 on machines with no minimum (8 on these machines).

Its really no different then the penny slot machines that force people to bet $2-$3 a pull meaning you have to play 200-300 credits for each spin of the wheels.. Its why sometimes your better off on a $.25 machine because usually they don't force anything more then 1cr each.. Personally I think it kills their action because somebody playing penny slots could potentially donk out after 30 or so pulls (granted you have to figure it pays back some along the way).

    Dan,

Great summary. My wife and I are going to Harrah's Tahoe in about a week. We are both platinum and about half way to diamond. Is it frowned upon or an outright violation for couples to use ONE player's card to get to higher tier? What happens if you have your spouse's card in while hitting jackpot (handpay)?
