Thread: Business cards in the fishbowl contest.

  1. #1
Yes, I always drop one of my business cards into the fishbowl for their free meal drawings. Once in a while I win a free pizza or a free 6-inch sub or a free lunch. But I wonder if those "business card drawings" discriminate against patrons who don't have a business card? It would be fair if the restaurants had a free entry slip, wouldn't it?

Then I have to wonder just how fair those drawings are? Is it really a random drawing? Would someone have a better chance of having their business card drawn if the card was for an escort service and had the photo of a beautiful escort with her name and phone number on the card? Do you think the restaurant owner would want that patron back into the store quickly?

Last night I Jersey Mike's, the sub shop, in Tarzana, California, there was a fishbowl with a sign indicating that there is a drawing for a free meal, but if you didn't have a business card to drop in the fishbowl, you could enter with an entry form at the store. That was good to see -- a chance for those without a business card to win. Unfortunately, the store was out of the do-it-yourself entry forms at the time.

Here is the photo of the sign on the fishbowl:
