Thread: Laughlin River Run

  1. #1
While the rest of you CET slaves were playing marriage/annulment counselors, AP'ing your way into story-telling heaven, or wet-dreaming about how to finally learn how to leave casinos with a profit, my wife & I headed up to Laughlin the past four days with two other "mature" couples on our Harley's. It was my 3rd River Run experience, and while the majority of you are probably too soft or cowardly to ride bikes, if you miss this event then you miss an extraordinary experience of sight, sound, and atmosphere. Even at my age, it gets better every year.

I'm no longer someone who enjoys being around crowds of people, but at least for this long weekend event it was a very decent bunch of people. It helps of course that we all had one major thing in common. Throw in the '60's music and the fact that any Hillary people were just too afraid to attend, and what you have is a comfortable time of chatting, dining, long walks along the beautiful Colorado River with the mountains in the background, some gambling, some riding, and a little too much souvenir buying.

We came home overnight since I always drive when the traffic's light, and that's especially important when biking. And while I did not hit any hand higher than quad 2's, 3's & 4's, after all expenses and purchases we returned home with $180 more than what we left with. And that includes the $165 for the doggie hotel.

Get off your butts and go to it next year, it's 36th year. Have some fun instead of complaining about everything.

Actually, my friend Bob (a former SORT team leader) and his wife have been going to the River Run for years. He says it is a good time, except for the occasional biker gang shooting up the Harrah's, as happened a few years back. I seem to remember some fatalities. Fortunately, Bob and his wife don't lack for weaponry or Kevlar.

So if you can go, it sounds like a good time.

Personally, I was always a sucker for Biker Week at Daytona. You can't beat a combination of spring break and Biker Week for some truly interesting times. Plus you can ride on the beach itself, although bikers generally don't because the sand will muck up the bikes.

I've been in bed sick for a few days now but this one got enough of my attention to make a response, then its back to bed. Rob, prey tell, how much did you pay for the hotel room for the River Run? How far in advance did you book it? It's widely known the rooms for the River Run don't go cheap.

Why bother pretending you know anything at all about the ins & out's of a place like Laughlin these days, when all you did years ago is hitchhike there as a loser-bum to play nickels? More than having no self-respect for your own life, you long ago cancelled your ticket to any future valid life--which is why you now hide away in Montana with that ridiculous claim everyone on the internet sees thru but feels too bad for you to say what they really think, of "making six figures a year on 5c & 25c vp and keno.

All 6 of us stayed at the Aquarius. My room was comped and the other two couples paid. Reservations were made 4 months ago, because normal, responsible people who haven't pissed their useless lives away like you have by contributing absolutely nothing to your country or society, have the resources to actually do things that interest them--and not sit in a fantasyland of virtual reality spewing supposed knowledge on various subjects just to get attention.

For five years I enjoyed full RFB in Laughlin for 362 days out of the year. The only 3 days of the year I couldn't get comped was the thurs, fri., sat., of the River Run. I never received any kind of mailer invitation to the River Run and don't know of any other regular player in Laughlin who did, even the high rollers. The hotels got top dollar from the bikers for the rooms on those nights and it was sold out a year in advance.

Rob, would you care to show a screenshot of your invitation for a comped room for the River Run from Aquarius?

Slobbie, your ignorance is really shining through here. You are willing to dump $57K in a day to try and book a $2500 win. I know how to make $140 an hour on a $1200 an hour wager. When it comes to risk versus reward, slobbie, yours is off the charts.

You are among the throngs of idiots on this forum who talk a big game but never have any casino knowledge to show for it.

How to get a comp room at the Aquarius for River Run week (which is ten times as big today as it was in your fantasyland years) 101: YOU CALL AND ASK FOR ONE, DOPEY! An OFFER in the mail? That just proves you're in the same class as that amateur RS__. THEY DON'T MAIL OUT OFFERS FOR THAT WEEK, DOPEY!

It's actually a whole lotta fun making fun of you when you try to portray being some kind of inside gaming and casino expert. All you do is when it comes to theoretical you pull info from the wizard's sites and pretend you've run the numbers on your slide rule, and when it comes to casino knowledge you make stupid guesses. And you count on the rest of the crowd here to be morons who don't pay attention to the details you bring up, and most of the time you're on the mark about them. But I regularly expose you're being a gaming imposter, and it's a blast putting a slug like you in his rightful place.

There is a big hole in your allegations here, sluggie, er, robbie. You've seen all those screenshots of games I've put up and analyzed. None of those games have ever been found on WOO, WoV, vpFREE or any other forum unless I put them there. The reason Shack or Dancer or anyone else has never written about those games is because they never seen those games until I exposed them. I cut my own trail, big fella.

And I analyzed those games mathematically for all the world to see. I'm smart enough to know that if I make a mistake in my analysis there are hundreds of armchair mathematicians just waiting to pounce and prove me an idiot. But no one ever has. The reason is my analysis are correct.

Meanwhile you spew your martingale system--and special plays of sub-optimal holds, all based in quackery and voodoo and you get hundreds of critics. On top of it you are a dishonorable bet welsher. But you are some comic relief, slobbie. Nothing more than comic relief.

You guys are forgetting about the Laughlin River Regatta!

This took place every summer through 2016. Basically a bunch of white trash people show up with their rafts and go on the Colorado River.

However, after tons of trash was left in and around the river in 2016, it was permanently canceled for 2017 and beyond.

I ran into the River Regatta in 2012 during a summer road trip. I was a new Seven Stars member, and was all ready to book my room at Harrah's Laughlin for free. I had no idea the Regatta was there. I was told the bad news that the hotel was 100% full, and they couldn't squeeze me in.

I then called around to other properties. Only the Aquarius had rooms, and those were $200 per night when they would go for $29 just a few days later.

    No thanks.

I chose to stay in a small hotel in the mountains of Kingman, Arizona instead.

We did cruise through Laughlin to see the regatta. Very underwhelming. Just looked like a gathering of white trash with their inflatable rafts. Not surprised what eventually happened 4 years later.

That's horrible. Is that a shot of the Harrah's mini-beach or elsewhere?

I don't remember properties other than Harrah's that had an actual beach, but there was one property beyond Harrah's as I recall.

If you look closely in the photo above, you'll see Rob Stringer sifting through the trash and left behind rafts, looking for something of value to resell.

mickey, you're so dumb. You spend your days drinking, smoking, eating food only fatasses like you eat, and all over multiple forums on the internet as you try so hard to to spread your phony stories and plagiarized "knowledge". By definition, you hunt for those stupid pictures and when you find them they go up. And a favorite ploy of yours us to suddenly claim you accidentally deleted them or "I lost the picture!" whenever someone's who's honing in on your BS starts grilling you. Yup, just check those other forums you spew on.
