Thread: Leaving your car in a casino garage

  1. #1
I'm doing an extended stay in Las Vegas ATM, but I'm about to fly back home for several days. I'd obviously like to avoid paying exorbitant airport parking fees; is it a big deal to leave my car in a casino garage for that long? Are some casinos more tolerant than others? I'd probably be doing this at a CET property, given that I'm 7star.

If it's only for a week or so you should be fine. I've done this several times at hard rock, as it's the closest casino garage to the airport.

I believe the "official" policy of most places is to tow after 30 days, but don't quote me on that .

If you are a 7 star, you'd valet your car and tell them you're an extended stay and no one will bother you.

Alan, do you have any idea if that generally works for diamond, or does 7-Star have a separate valet?

redietz I can't answer your question. At Caesars Palace there is a special valet only for 7 Stars (Flamingo entrance.)

Remember, you don't have to be a registered guest to have your car at a casino garage. Half the time I use the valet at Caesars I'm not a registered guest.

I think it would be unlikely that they would tow you after a week.

Many people leave their cars in Vegas hotel garages and never move them, opting to walk, take taxis, etc.

As these properties have no way to differentiate cars of guests and non-guests, I believe you would only run into trouble if you left it there for an extended period of time, such as 30 days.

One thing you do is call anonymously (make sure to block your caller ID with *67) to Caesars and ask them. Tell them that you are about to book a 7-day stay at Caesars, but you hate driving in Vegas, so you plan to just leave your car in the garage and only move it when you're checking out. Ask if this will be a problem, and what their policy is on this.

You could get a false positive (or false negative?) with this. Didn't someone recently say when they were checking in, they asked what your license plate was so they could add it to your room profile? If so, then they could conceivably not tow your car if it's attached to a current guest, but not someone who isn't a current guest (anymore).

Many years ago, me and a friend couldn't remember where we parked our rental car in the parking lot at Harrahs. A security officer drove us around to look for it.

While circling around we saw a car pull into a handicapped spot (no sticker on their license plate). Three guys who appeared to be perfectly fine, stepped out of the car and walked towards the elevator.

My buddy makes a comment like... "Well, guess they're getting towed!"

The security guard says, "Let you in on a little secret. No one is ever towed or ticketed in a Las Vegas casino parking lot."

Don't know if there was any truth to that then or now given that CET is charging for parking.

It's reasons like this that they start charging money.
