Thread: Get automatic Diamond status at Total Rewards properties through "status" match

  1. #21
So here's what's really weird about Golden Nugget.

Apparently not ALL Golden Nugget properties are doing the status match. (You can match to any property for Total Rewards, but the reverse isn't true.)

So I tried to do it in Vegas, and I was told they aren't doing it.

However, they conceded that Laughlin (95 miles away, also in Nevada) is doing it, even though it's the same 24K program.

Then they said they will match status from any 24K property.

So I replied, "What you're saying to me is that I can drive to Laughlin, match my Seven Stars card there, then drive back here and you'll match me to that one?"

"Yes, that's what I'm saying," the supervisor told me.

"Do you understand how ridiculous that sounds? Why not just save me the 190 mile round trip and do it?"

    But she couldn't.

I gave up, as 3 months of elevated status there isn't worth very much, so I wouldn't drive to Laughlin for it, nor would I put much effort into getting an exception made.

    But how lame is that?

Pretty ridiculous that a consolidated program has different status matching rules from property to property.

As nonsensical as Total Rewards is sometimes, at least their program is uniform when it comes to statuses and matching.

Dan even Total Rewards has some differences.

When you check into Caesars Palace as a Seven Stars there is a flat $200 hold put on your credit card. But check into the Flamingo across the street and it's $100 per person who has "charging privileges" to your room.

Now, if you're a "couple" you wouldn't notice the difference. But if you want a third person to be able to charge to your account, it makes a difference at Flamingo.

    That's not what I meant.

I'm saying that, aside from some local property differences, the base Total Rewards benefits are uniform among the properties. You will never have a situation with Total Rewards where you can do a status match in Las Vegas but you can't do it in Laughlin, or vice-versa.

I was Diamond for over 10 years. They stopped almost all their offers, so I quit playing as much- so much I was lowered to Platinum. Marguarittaville was the shocker- lowered me to Islander from top level. Now here's the kicker- I still get dining at M-ville and 1 ever so often from Caesar's. M-ville sent me $100 free play for my birthday while Caesar's sent me a FREE DRINK offer! I don't even try to improve at Caesars . Diamond means nothing to me.

Sounds to me like a ploy to get people to go to Laughlin. It has been a long time since I was at the GN in Laughlin but they had some FP games there like the one where you get bonus pays for 4 K,Q and Js. You could get some value out of Laughlin still. Being Red Card at Aquarius has some value. They have a FP progressive DB bank. The Blazing Sevens are playable around 1500. My problem was I got tired of driving down there for offers and tournaments. That tournament line bothers me.

You're talking about Margaritaville Louisiana, right?

Which property from Caesars sent you a free drink?

Yes- Louisiana. Horseshoe, Bossier sent the free drink offer. With my now limited amount of play, $50 would have been thoughtful. It's just that I've been playing for over 10 years at Horseshoe and only a couple at M-ville. Maybe familiarity DOES breed contempt.

Whenever I go to a new casino I have a habit of asking if they will match the status of other casinos. Only one casino has ever matched my Seven Stars at Caesars -- and that was the Pauma casino in San Diego County. It matched my Seven Stars with their highest level but only for four months.

Recently I signed up for players cards at Sams Town and Arizona Charlies and the Fortune Casino in Vegas and none would match a Seven Stars or even offer an upgrade. I even asked at the various bars in Vegas that are members of a multi-bar loyalty card system and the answer was also "no."

Perhaps this move by Caesars will open the door with other casino companies?
    Yes Alan,

And just however did you find out about Pauma's match offer and how they also matched your freeplay?

They are doing this again for 2019.

But they claim it will take 30 days to get matched??? That doesn't seem right.

Did anyone do this last year? How long did it take?

With an upcoming Vegas trip, I decided to status match with Horseshoe Hammond. I took my gold card from another local and went to the rewards counter. After a bunch of pecking at the keyboard, calling over supervisors and walkie-talkie conversations - they finally told me "sorry, we can't do it here. Cromwell is your 'dominant' property. We can try to submit it via email to our higher-ups."

Now, over a week later, still nothing.

  13. #33
    Not sure if they're right.

I status-matched at a different property than my dominant one (though same market)

Still showing as gold 10 days later. Forget it. I'll stop at the Cromwell, get my $100 celebration dinner, and be done with it.

Now, at 2 weeks later, I checked the TR site and I am now diamond.

Well,as it turns out, CET gave me a diamond card but stripped all the benefits from it. As noted above, I tier matched through Hammond - who had to submit it to Cromwell (my dominant property).

So I get to Vegas and I stopped by the Cromwell desk to get my Diamond card. I went to Harrahs buffet with 2 guests to use my $100 dinner. Lady at the counter said "sorry, I don't see the $100 on your account." I went to the TR desk and they said my account is "blocked". They said would work on it, and to come back later.

The next day I checked and was told your account was blocked from all offers and there was nothing they can do. They would look into it and would call me - they never did. I can't imagine what I did to get excluded from all offers.

    Forget it.

You got no-offered for some reason.

I would look into it. That can sometimes be reversed.

The only thing that I can think of that I ever did was to run off $400 in FP ($80 X 5), without any extra play. Hardly the crime if the century. Nobody could tell me why this all happened.
