Thread: Caesars Rewards (Total Rewards) and Wyndham status match

  1. #1
    *** UPDATE 2024 ***

Since 2022, you can only match to Caesars Diamond if you have an "earned" Wyndham card. This means your Wyndham Diamond needs to have been obtained by either a credit card benefit or by staying in the hotel enough to earn Diamond. If you got your Wyndham Diamond from a status match, you CANNOT match to Caessars.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There's currently a status matching partnership with Wyndham Hotels.

This one allows 2-way status matching:

    - If you have a Platinum Wyndham card, but a lower Total Rewards card, you will be matched to Caesars Rewards Platinum
    - If you have a Diamond Wyndham card, but have a lower Total Rewards card, you will be matched to Caesars Rewards Diamond

    - If you have a Platinum Caesars Rewards card, but a lower Wyndham card, you will be matched to Wyndham Platinum
    - If you have a Diamond or Seven Stars Caesars Rewards card, but a lower Wyndham card, you will be matched to Wyndham Diamond

Here are the perks of the Wyndham program: https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndha.../member-levels

You should definitely do this if you're a TR Platinum or higher, but don't have similar Wyndham status.

If you have a Wydham Platinum or Diamond and are lower for Total Rewards, you should also do this, just for the parking benefit (for Platinum) and the various Diamond benefits.

    The Process

First, you need to make sure you have BOTH a Total Rewards and Wyndham account.

If you don't, use these links to sign up:

    Wyndham: https://www.wyndhamrewards.com/trec/...ction?variant=

    Total Rewards: https://www.caesars.com/program/

Now, pick the status you want matched:

If you are a TR Platinum higher, and you want a higher Wyndham card, click here: https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndha...s/status-match

If you are a Wyndham Platinum or higher, and you want a higher Total Rewards card, first login to your Caesars Rewards account, then click here: https://www.caesars.com/myrewards/pr...rtners/?id=WYN

    That's it!

Thank you for sharing this. I am definitely going to be taking advantage of this. I have only stayed at Wyndhams a few times for personal travel but they were very nice. There were just never enough of them in my frequent business destinations to make working the program worthwhile, when there were locations in other programs that I already have high status in.

You can now transfer Wyndham points to Total Rewards RCs, or vice-versa -- up to 30k points total (in either direction).

These points transfer at a 1:1 rate (that's what I heard, but it's not verified).

Wyndham points, however, tend to be worth less than a penny each. Here's an analysis: https://www.valuepenguin.com/wyndham-rewards-program

So it's probably better to transfer Wyndham points to RCs, rather than the reverse.

You can only do it in multiples of 10,000 points.

This still works. Also Wyndham extended everyone's status for another year, so if you had Diamond in 2021, you have it in 2022.

If you don't have Wyndham, Caesars will still match other casino's cards right now -- but only for new players, so that doesn't help most of you.

Does anyone know if M-life will match status with other reward systems, such as Seminole Wild card?

Laughably, the Wyndham Rewards status match has been held up due to a "computer error", and almost nobody has been matched.

They have a backlog of "thousands" of matches to be done, and are "receiving a file soon" which will allow them to process everyone at once.

    What a fail.

Not sure if this is an even bigger fail in the world that is now El Diablo, but ...

I’ve been Diamond for a few weeks since matching from Wyndham Feb. 1. Sometime today (it was fine last night), I was downgraded back to Platinum. Apparently, I am one of many. A good # of us earned 100 TCs at Caesars’ direction to unlock the $100 Celebration dinner, only to have the rug pulled out from under us. Bait and Switch? “Trust us - just gamble with us to unlock that benefit, we won’t take it away, we promise ...”

I can understand changing policy for new matches going forward, but yanking status from a large group of customers after they’ve had it for a while? (And qualified according to the terms of the program at that time.)

There is literally zero good food at Caesars. About the best you can hope for is the Bacchanal buffet. Which is an overpriced shell of its former self. So you didn't miss much.

    Oh, I’m aware.

I am only a couple years removed from 7Stars & it was hard to find places of value for the $500 in celebration dinners.

I actually enjoyed Voodoo Steak at the Rio, partially thanks to an excellent server who always took care of us (he had been there since the start, then left because of Eldorado). Last summer, I took family there for my sister’s BDay - A/C didn’t work (miserable), they didn’t tell me Sam (server) had left despite confirming on reservation, they screwed up reservation requests then couldn’t confirm if my Celebration dinners (had 2) would work. Final nail in the coffin was them not honoring locals discount despite it being on their website. (Newsflash - it’s still there seven months later. Good luck claiming it.) We made the best of it & my siblings appreciated the gesture mostly for the view.

This is the first time I’ve needed or attempted a match & they screwed it up as only El Diablo can.

This has been covered by many of the travel sites.

It appears you had Wyndham status because of a previous match from Caesars and didn’t actually earn it. Is that correct? Seems they stopped the matching back and forth from people who didn’t earn status with either.

I certainly don’t like what ED has been doing with Caesars but in this case they made a business decision. Should have done it in a better way but it makes sense to stop giving benefits to people who didn’t earn them with either company.

This has been renewed for 2023.

Note that if you want Caesars Diamond from your Wyndham Diamond, it needs to be "earned" -- meaning either earning it from Wyndham stays, or from getting the Wyndham Business credit card.

You CAN match consecutive years with this. However, you need to manually submit the match each time, and you can't do it before February 1 to get Caesars Diamond, so there will be a lapse of 1-2 weeks before you see your status.

I just got matched! To Diamond. 2022 Cet Diamond matched to Wyndham Diamond. 2023 matched Wyndham Diamond back to Cet diamond. No play or stay at either in 2022.
Funny thing, went to Harrahs Rincon this morning to get a card and to make sure my info was updated and they gave me a Gold card. Afternoon, website said Diamond.

In regards to the status match at MGM. Unlike Caesars, you can still use your Hyatt status to rematch to MGM Gold but there is a price. When I did it this year with 2 different accounts, both comp ratings dropped massively within a day or two. Anybody else notice this?
