Thread: Quest for Rewards: Earn bonus tier credits for visiting Caesars properties (updated June 2017, scroll down)

    ================================================== ============

    https://www.totalrewards.com/content...f12c4e7e4d1064

    The highlights:

    - There are 36 Total Rewards properties in US/Canada

    - For each one you visit and earn 25 tier credits between 1/1/17 and 3/31/17, you get a bonus 250 tier credits

    - You CAN do this at multiple properties within the same market. So you can get some pretty easy tier points hopping around properties in Vegas

    - If you visit 19 or more properties (and earn 25 tier credits each), you will end up getting 500 tiers for each one, starting from the 19th property (the first 18 will get only 250)

    - If you only visit 1 property during this time period, you do not get any bonuses

There is also some lame sweepstakes which none of us will be winning, so I'm not going to bother explaining it.

It looks like the maximum earned would be 13,500.

This post has been edited to fix the earning potential, as clarified by their T&C. The website is misleading, as it implies you will get 500 (or as much as 750 tiers) EACH once you make to 19 properties, but that's not true.

Thanks to maxev for pointing this out.

Even worse than that, Dan. It's 250 tier credits for properties up to 18 (4500), then 500 tier credits for 19-36 (9000).

So a total of 13,500 max for visit all 36 properties. Plus, I suppose, 900 tier credits for doing the bare 25 minimum at each.

So basically the equivalent of getting Diamond.

Have you verified this, or is that just your understanding from reading the webpage?

Because I've seen these situations before where the TR page makes it look like we are getting worse benefits, and we're actually getting better benefits.

I'll be visiting a TR property soon, so I will ask... though you often get wrong information from the TR desk, as well.

    Ugh. You're right, max.

    This really sucks.

    Good find.

    Useless promotion.

    Nothing to see here.

Definitely not as good as the Race for Rewards from a few years ago, at least not for us. On that one my wife and I each got $500 - $600 worth of rc's the two years the promotion was running. We don't need any help reaching tier status but it may be of use to others. Now the tier bonuses, 1000 for 1000 tc's, and 5000 for 2500 tc's, and 10,000 for 5000 tc's, I hope they don't plan on eliminating them. They are quite useful in getting to the 7 star level each year.

Also I should point out that those trying to earn Seven Stars with minimum play won't really be helped with this, unless they can rack up 7500 tiers by doing this.

That's because through optimal bonus tier play, you are earning in multiples of 7500 tiers. So if you have, say, 4000 extra, it won't do you much good.

According to the T&C maxev posted, that means you must visit 24 properties to get 7500, which is just about impossible unless you want to schlep all over the place. The only market with a lot of properties is Vegas, and they only have 9.

Bottom line is that this isn't very useful.

I find it interesting that Total Rewards put a monetary value on a one year Seven Stars membership: $7,500 (see the PDF maxev posted, list item 36). Also, $1,000 value for Diamond.

This seems to be in line with figures from a doctoral thesis paper V. Mansharamani wrote on the CET Total Rewards program: Seven Stars members are about 8 to 10 times more valuable than Diamond members, and over 500 times more valuable than Gold members.

If you are really set on entering the drawing for Reward Credits for whatever reason, just mail in 36 postcards in 36 consecutive days, which will cost you $12.24 in postage.

Someone really wrote a doctoral thesis on Total Rewards?!

Do you have a link to it?

If that thesis was accepted, we should apply for honorary doctorates.

It's titled "Scale and Differentiation in Services: Using Information Technologies to Manage Customer Experiences at Harrah's Entertainment and Other Companies".

Interesting fact: Vikram and I were both attending MIT Sloan at the same time, him a PhD student and myself an undergraduate.

Gary Loveman PhD '89 gave several talks on campus during IAP but I never bothered attending any of them, instead opting for lectures by Ed Miller, Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman.

Anyone interested in trading cards with help with completing more badges. I'm stuck on east coast but really would help me to get benefits to help my tier score up.

  14. #14
I don't think this is really worth doing. You're just not getting enough of a bonus to be worth the hassle.

    BUMP

There is a new promotion like this, running from 6/1/17 through 8/31/17.

It's better than the last one, and only involves Vegas.

Here is the VERY confusing Caesars page about it: https://www.totalrewards.com/content...OUSEL_HOMEPAGE

I bet you have no idea what they're talking about, right?

Let me break it down for you.

You can earn up to 45 "badges" as part of this promotion. You will get 200 tier credits each (no RCs) for the first 30 badges, and 400 tier credits each for the next 15 badges.

So that's a possible total of 12,000 tier credits -- just 3,000 short of earning Diamond until 1/31/19!

Unlike the last promotion, which laughably had you flying all over the country, this one only involves the 9 Las Vegas properties: Caesars, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Rio, Flamingo, Ballys, Cromwell, LINQ, and Harrah's.

To earn badges, you need to do the following:

    - Earning at least 25 tier credits at slots (or video poker) will earn you one badge per property
    - Earning at least 25 tier credits at table games will earn you one badge per property
    - For each property you accomplish BOTH of the above, you also get one additional badge.

So that's 27 badges, since it's 3 badges per property.

These tier credits do not have to be earned on the same day. These are totals for the entire 3 month promotion!

The remaining 18 badges are not property specific, but rather require you to spend money in the following categories:
    Hotel
    Food
    Shows
    Spa
    Golf
    Shopping

These are combined for all nine Caesars properties. For example, if you spend $75 on a show at Harrah's and $120 on a show at Caesars, then you've earned $195 in the "Shows" category.

Badges are handed out in each category listed above. Spend $100 in a category, and you get 1 badge. Spend $250 in a category, and you get 2 badges. Spend $500 or more in a category, and you get 3 badges.

Therefore, you will need to spend a minimum of $3000 ($500 in each category above) if you want all 18 badges. I do not believe that comps count.

You also need to "opt in" on the link I posted above, by clicking "Sign in" and following the prompts.

It appears comped CET stays certainly do count toward the Quest For Rewards: Las Vegas (I stayed 5 nights at the Rio the first week of June and today all 3 hotel badges were awarded).

I did complete all the gaming badges in one day, but for 5,400 additional TCs, it's probably not worth the time.

The video poker part is the easiest: all CET properties have at least 98% VP, up to 99.17% at the Rio ($10 coin-in for 1 TC), so your expected loss at each property will never exceed $5.00.

Table games award 2-3 TCs for every dollar in expected loss, so expect to lose $8-$12 on average and your bankroll swings to be large. I played $50 pass line only at crowded tables with fewer rolls per hour. It still took 20-25 minutes to earn 25 TCs, and on average, 15 rolls and 5 resolved bets ($250 in action, expected loss: $3.50).

Does this stack with the daily TC bonus?

They're different benefits with different time intervals. I can't imagine any reason why they wouldn't stack.

Thanks Dan for all the good info, and thanks nerakil for the helpful trip report. Having to play tables takes the fun out of it, but it's clever from their perspective because it encourages customers to try other games.

They do stack with the regular TR tier credit bonus.

I also got the 3 hotel badges for staying in a comped room over 5 days.

I did my table earning at blackjack and surprisingly got a badge after only 15 minutes of play and $15 minimum at one place. One other place didn't register at the same rate.

At the Flamingo TR desk, they mentioned that video roulette and video craps would count as tables, but I heard differently from other casinos.

They said badges aren't earned on anything comped, but I wonder if there's a loophole of charging food, spa, golf, and shows to your room, then use TR credits to pay the balance (though you would lose out not paying taxes).

Did they tell you how many points you had after the 15 minutes, or does it update on your phone?
