They should return it. After looking around some more, there was a similar instance at the same HS Baltimore where he was booted out of tournament but got his money back after some haggling with gaming.

I think the dude has grounds for a lawsuit. He was 86'd from a property in Maryland not Nevada. How can that carry over to another state? Regnis would know more about this than me.
Barrings from Caesars when accompanied by a formal notice state that you are banned from all of their properties. Whether or not it'll hold up in court, I don't know.

Here's an old thread about the original incident on Todd's PFA

This kind of thing is why I despise Harrah's (CET). They hijacked the name of one of my favorite casinos as a branding move, but you can't wash off the Harrah's stench. If you don't bar him pre-tournament, you have to let him play. Now it's the story of the tournament. What idiots. Maybe they should build another ferris wheel and hold the WSOP in it so they can finally sell the Rio.

It's time for my annual "Oh, for the good old days" spiel regarding the WSOP. I was privileged to be able to watch some of the old WSOP tables back when it was at Binions and bleachers were set up for the events. Back then, the house didn't take anything from the entrance fees, and the players were comped rooms and food. The players were treated like rock stars. Of course, 10K back in 1980/81 (Stu Ungar years) was worth a lot more, roughly 28K in today's world.

Today you have the house taking (at the least) 6% for the Main Event, players paying through the nose for rooms during the summer, when Las Vegas would be dead anyway, and paying for their food in a place (the Rio) that doesn't have a lot of great food options. The house take for the other events is higher. So why, given the cost of travel, the cost of rooms and food, the house cut, the expectation of tipping, the making-it-up-as-they-go-along scheduling snafus (locking players out of room and such), the not sharing merchandising profits with the players (who finance the whole thing), and every other mess CET has imposed, do players play the thing?

I have no idea. The players need a union, basically.

Harrahs and CET has destroyed the WSOP. They turned it into what Charlie Brown bitching about in the Christmas special...commercialization.

Agree with the above. Wonder why some of the "name" players don't approach another sponsor to form a competing tournament.

Any of these players stupid enough to get involved in WSOP could easily secure themselves weeks worth of free rooms by preparing for and playing at other casinos months before this moronic over-commercialized event....littered by foreigners and won by some nobody every year. No one needs to stay at the Rio. Anyone who complains "bbbbut....I GOTS to stay there because it's hot out and I don't like walking or waiting for taxis" ought to have their nuts cut off with a dull, rusty blade.

Teachable moment: get in shape and stay in shape if you're gonna get involved in these tournaments. When your body is sharp your mind is sharp, and you will feel far more confident when going up against all the loser fatass, smoking, alcoholic gambling addicts and wannabees in the WSOP.

Rob... I'm afraid you have no idea what it's like to play in not one, but many tournaments, sometimes back to back and sometimes during the same day. It makes sense for players to stay at the Rio because every spare moment they have is important to them.

Regarding playing in the WSOP: I've never done it and while it is commercialized the prize pools sure look inviting for a couple of days of work. Imagine picking up a bracelet and $130,000 in one of the smaller events?

Of course I have little knowledge of what it's like because I'm not stupid enuf to have done so. I can think of few more disgusting ways to spend long hours over multiple days than sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with a collection of degenerates who neither take proper care of themselves nor care about it.

Every spare minute us important to these people? To whom are they not? And when you know what's coming up because you choose to attend, you ought not whine and complain about the accommodations, price, food etc., and instead learn how to be able to diversify. And in this case that begins and ends with your health---something sadly lacking with the majority of these people.

Rob, what are you drinking? Or smoking?

It's his eating. The $40 salmon entrees are loaded with iodine -- messes your brain up bad.

Yeah, if he ate the $4.99 specials at Arizona Charlie he'd think differently. Just got my monthly mailer: $5 coupon for any restaurant.

I can think of at least one---driving in a Winnebago with Sasquatch in the passenger seat....now that takes some discipline

You can watch Todd live right now playing $100/$200 limit poker on Stones Live Poker. Here's a live YouTube steam.

Here is a 2 1/2 hour archive of the livestream:

I was playing $100/$200 limit holdem.

On the stream itself, I lost about $500.

However, I also played before and after the stream, and finished $1700 up.

I did drive 420 miles each way to get there. The casino paid for one of my two hotel nights, and also paid for the food I ate white playing (including after the stream).

    Enjoyed it.

Met up with a friend in the area the next day and we went to a shooting range.

The shooting range is the far more interesting topic to me here.

Why didn't you take a bus?
