Are you more or less generous with your tips now that the economy has slowed down? We know you are probably eating out less, but are you tipping less? Or perhaps more? Or do you still base your tips solely on the service you get?

Back in July, the California sales tax rate went down slightly. And those diners who simply doubled the sales tax when figuring their tip are tipping less now than they did before July.

If you have a large party, it is not unusual to have the tip included in your check. But are they adding tips to checks for smaller parties now?

Some hotels now automatically add the tip to your room service check.
