Taylor Sheridan uses a lot of Montana names and places in the TV series. There is a little town north of Great Falls on I-15 named Dutton, Montana, population 300. The town was named for a Northern Railroad agent named Charles Dutton. I'm sure that's where Taylor Sheridan got the Dutton name.

I knew where this was as soon as I saw the walking path near the casino. IIRC there's also an old car graveyard with a bunch of the same make and model pre-'50s. I'll see if I can find some pictures.

I spent quite a bit of time there at the beginning of the pandemic. I even got to spend a bunch of time fishing the streams and rivers.

I visit Spirit Mountain and Chinook Winds whenever I'm in Oregon to visit my sisters that live nearby.

    Oregon is a beautiful place.
Unfortunately, the fishing sucked around Spirit Mountain Casino. I only caught a few after going to multiple rivers and streams with over 25 hours. I think it's too far from the coast.

Portland used to be a very nice place until they allowed all the homeless people to do whatever they want.

I love cruising from Astoria all the way down to Coos Bay. The Oregon Video Lottery has some exploitable games too. I stop at all the bars and restaurants along the way and spin stuff off. Not big money but easily pays for gas, meals, hotels.

How do you decide to take time off and smell the roses doing things like fishing? Do you bother getting fishing licenses in all the states you fish? I wouldn't care if you didn't get a license for each state considering it is just a gamble.

Good question. Yes, I actually do get a fishing license in each state. They usually run $50 to $150 depending on the state, it's more expensive for non-residents.

I spent so much time in Oregon because there was good play, but most of the time it only took a few hours a day for some weeks.
Whenever I plan a Vacation, I usually include fishing as part of my vacation. Truth be told, I don't fish anywhere near the amount of time I should, considering how much I enjoy it. Oregon was a special case. I would be lucky if I averaged 1 fishing trip a year.

If I lived in a place that had beautiful streams and rivers I'd probably be out fishing, and hiking 20 hours a week or more. I would spend time Camping as well.

I can't seem to post pictures here (Am I doing something wrong? I did the required steps)

I watch a lot of fishing videos on YouTube; we have huge fish (sturgeon) in the Pac NW, but I had no idea that they pulled eight foot long freshwater fish out of the rivers and streams of Texas.

Check this out to see it happen...

The videos in posts #705 and #706 were taken inside Glacier Park last October on the last day before they closed Logan Pass. I came in on the east side from St. Mary's. Ran into fog at the top of the pass so couldn't film the top or the west slope.

The pic in #716 was the view out of my hotel room at Cactus Pete's in Jackpot last fall.

Jackpot NV, is possibly the most overachieving town in the world, with a whopping 753 residents !

Just two casinos there. Not very big either. Most of the business is from southern Idaho. Plus it's on the Hwy 93 transition route for I-80 and I-84.
