Thread: Sam's Town -- no soap?

  1. #1
This really bugged me. In one of the men's restrooms at Sam's Town there was no soap. I don't mean the soap dispensers were empty and needed to be filled. I mean there were no soap dispensers. They were removed. Article with photos: http://alanbestbuys.com/id457.html

Any hand sanitizer stations? Horseshoe has those.

I don't recall seeing them but take note that hand sanitizers have been criticized as being ineffective and only move around germs and bacteria. Warm water and soap is always better.

Besides being a "crime against humanity", wouldn't it be illegal for a public business that serves food and has employees to not have soap dispensers in the men's room?

Alan-you should forward this to both the GM of Sam and the Health department.

This is so odd. Why would anyone make the decision to do that? I concur with regnis.

The more pressing question would be why were you in a dump like Sam's Town in the first place? Anytime any normal person goes into one of these dives they're bound to find out-of-the-ordinary people and situations not regularly experienced in the civilized world.

Some of us just have that intrepid explorer gene to go where no (civilized) man has gone before. I'm sure there was a Star Trek episode in Sam's Town.

Besides, who doesn't like animatronic wolves?

If you only understood how predictably corny your replies are....You try overly hard to make humorous comebacks, but almost none of them are. It's as if you were constantly beaten down by girls in grade school, and now you're failing to live up to your lifelong pledge to do something about it.

I loved getting beaten down by girls in grade school. Everyone should try it.

As expected. Bad humor, and it makes everyone uneasy watching you struggle with your comebacks.

My guess is you don't realize it, and like with arci and his "projection" responses, you know it makes no sense and is probably humorless, yet you continue to do it because it somehow makes you feel better about yourself.

Are you telling me you don't enjoy getting beaten down by girls? My bad. I assumed that you got tossed around by your wife on a regular basis. And liked it.

Just goes to show that when I assume, I make an ass out of you and me.

Four reasons I've been to Sam's Town...

    1. They still have Bonus Craps with full pay, 35:1, 175:1.
    2. The movies are cheap and sometimes free based on promotions
    3. Discounts at Friday's restaurant including specials on ribs
    4. There's a $5 bonus poker progressive in the high limit room, but I only played it once

I just emailed Sam's Town and Boyd. What's the over-under on getting a response?

A response from the head of housekeeping at Sam's Town:

    Hello Alan,

Thank you for taking the time to ‘Contact Us’ regarding your recent visit to Sam’s Town. I was very surprised to see the photos of the restrooms on your website. We do lease out that location to Century Theaters, but nonetheless that is a confusing situation to find. I have forwarded your findings to the movie theater’s General Manager as well as alerted Sam’s Town Upper Management to the status of the theater restrooms.

I would also like to thank you for the kind review of our casino on your website.

Thank you again, I will be sure that this issue is followed up by Century Theaters.

If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Rob and Belly aren`t concerned with them not supplying soap...they usually pack their own so they can drop it in the shower and pack eachother

Now I heard from the movie company. It seems that some time ago they changed the soap dispensers to mirror-mounted dispensers. They had just change the mirrors because of damage to them, but the new soap dispensers had not yet been mounted. The company admits the restroom should have been closed until the new soap dispensers were mounted.

They offered me two free movie tickets. That gave me a laugh.

Alan, one of these days you might see Bob Dancer on that $5 progressive. He plays it when the numbers are good.

If you accept the tickets, wear gloves.
