Thread: Turf War over online poker and online gambling hits California Casinos

  1. #1
Until a few weeks ago, the big Vegas gaming companies were the clear favorites to dominate online poker and online gambling once it is legalized in the USA. But now the turf war for online sites is heating up. 60 California casinos -- both Indian casinos and traditional card clubs -- are now part of an online poker site that has free games until legalized online gambling starts. And it appears they expect it sooner rather than later.

    My report is here: http://alanbestbuys.com/id104.html

What do you think the online poker and online casino landscape will look like when its legalized either nationwide or intrastate? Who will be the powerhouses, the so-called "Strip Casinos of the Web"??

Now on the page, an interview with the Exec. Director of the group who explains in detail what their plans are for online gambling only within California, and how they reject the federal plan for nationwide online poker, and why they think California taxpayers would be better off with only an intrastate online poker system.

http://alanbestbuys.com/id104.html has my video interview. They expect the California state llegislature to take up the issue starting in January.

There was a new development about a week ago about federal legalization of online poker. Rep. Bono-Mack of Palm Springs who chairs a House Committee which is considering proposals put the brakes on a plan that seemed to be getting bipartisan support.

I wonder if Rep. Bono-Mack is opposing the federal legislation because 60 California casinos want an intrastate online poker organization so that California online poker money doesn't leave the state?

Morongo, near Palm Springs, is part of the 60-casino group.
