Can I ask why you separate out race? As if that is the line that cannot be crossed.
Why is it ok to attack me on sexual orientation and in such a vile way as to express hope that I get aids and die?
Why would it be ok to attack someone's spouse who is deceased? I can not think of a lower thing someone can do.
For that matter why is it ok, to repeatedly attack someone concerning alcoholism. Alcoholism is a disease. It is acceptable to attack people for having a disease?
Mickey has made extraordinary effort to take control of his life and condition. It is not acceptable to attack anything on such a personal level. If someone says something you don't agree with, argue and debate their statements, but it is NOT acceptable to attack on such a personal level.
And you know what....I have done it too. I have done it with you Alan. Heat of the moment. But it is not acceptable. Nor should it be tolerated when vile personal attacks are the ONLY thing someone is contributing to the site and it has been that way with Singer for at least as long as I have been here, which is 3 months this go-around. And it has been much longer than that, because last summer (2016), I joined the site and participated for all of 7-8 posts. Want to guess why I left so abruptly?

There is no excuse for what Rob said about gays, alcoholics, sick people, dead people, dying people, widows, orphans or even calling me an addicted gambler.
Next?
Rob has said many vile things here on the forum. It's his way of showing affection. But this is the post that got him banned:
https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...ll=1#post52584
Everything he said in the offending paragraph was factual. But in the current environment, telling the truth is "racist."
Bocce ball are you saying Rob was wrongfully banned?
How about keeping Rob banned, but if there is a post Rob would REALLY like to make he has to relay the contents for Alan to post on this site? In exchange, Rob pays $15-25 to Dan to help maintain this site for each post he makes. (Venmo or Bitcoin).
I would argue he could have said the exact same thing without using the inflammatory language.
And I didn't realize that post, which I don't remember reading before, was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I personally found it very offensive that irrelevant personal details about people were brought in to discussions/debates where they had absolutely no relevance. The person who is a widower, the person who may be a homosexual (I say may because I don't know and it's none of my damn business anyway), the person who is a recovering alcoholic, the person who may be a gambling addict, etc. etc.. None of those had anything to do with the items being discussed so why were they even brought up? It's crap like that that makes people afraid to post.
But it's only inflammatory because people are irrational. He used one word that causes people to melt down. I understand it's awkward for Dan, but it's not Rob's fault that people are irrational.
The solution is to either respond rationally, or ignore him. People think they can accomplish the same thing by silencing him, but then he retains his power to hurt people who are overly sensitive.
This is exactly correct!
First, someone suggested (and I am not going to go back and look for who it was) that Rob was intentionally trying to get banned. That his claims had pretty much been debunked and disproven, to most reasonable people, and his answer was to leave the forum, but to do so by being able to say he was banned. That doesn't make complete sense to me, but geez, I can think of no other reason for someone to act the way he has in my time here. I mean I guess it could just be that he really is that vile of a human being.....Alan says no. I don't know?
So, anyway, I think I need to address the gay attacks directed at me. Being gay does NOT define me. It is irrelevant to me and should be to anyone else. And it has nothing to do with why I came to this site or what I want to discuss. When I came to this site, for the second time, this past summer, I didn't announce that I was gay. If you remember someone else did that (axel), making a joke that I know was meant in good fun. But if you remember I was pretty pissed at Axel and now you see why. While I am not ashamed of being gay, and have dealt with name calling, and even homeless after being thrown out of the house on my 18th birthday, so there is nothing anyone can call me that I haven't heard before and can't take.
But what about some lurker type member that might be gay, reading the site regularly or perhaps just visiting. He is going to say "why would I want to put myself through that?" And it is EXACTLY the same for attacks on Redietz's wife, who passed away years ago, or mickey's battle with drinking or any other personal attacks on anyone that have nothing to do with what is being discussed. There are people reading, considering participating that are saying...."why do I want to put myself into that?"
If that is Dan's vision for the site, then I have wasted my time here. I was and still am hoping the site can grow a bit, add new members that we can all learn from each other and enjoy discussions. That's not to say there won't be disagreements, and people can't criticize someone ideas and posts and be skeptical of claims and even skeptical of advantage play in general. Maybe even a bit of sparring, but you don't go after someone's wife that passed away or even someone's sexuality that has nothing to do with anything. That is just fucked up!
I don't know what is going on with behind the scenes with communications with Rob. If he really wants to continue participating here and agrees act like a mature human being and to knock off the personal attacks that have nothing to do with anything being discussed, I wouldn't object to another chance, but that is Dan's call.
Just my opinion, but if you want to eradicate hatred of gays, you need to shine a light on it. Driving the hatred underground does not solve the problem.
Now if there's a rational reason to hate gays, then it will probably continue regardless, although I don't see the case for it.
I understand it may be considered unsuitable territory here, but on a gambling forum, I tend to expect some rough language and behavior.
That is just not what this site is about. This site is about vegas (hence the name) and gambling and along with gambling comes advantage gambling. I don't care about anyone personal situation, their mates/spouses. I don't care if people are gay or 'breeders'. I don't care what anyone does in private. I don't care that Axel is a closet gay with a girlfriend (that's called a beard BTW). I want to hear his thoughts on gambling, AP and vegas....none of this personal crap that has nothing to do with why we are here.
(I think axel had that coming since he opened this whole can or worms)
I didn't say anything about his wife did I? What...I am supposed to comment on everything everyone says? Should I just put my career on hold so I can sit here 24/7 and comment on what is right and what is wrong?
And Frankly Singer deserves that. Dan even said so. When he made that announcement, he said something to the effect that Rob deserves any attack that he gets. That is not the way I would have handled it, but it's not my site.
