I've no dog in this fight other than as regards the issue of transparency, and in that regard it seems that banning Singer was arguably unfair.

This is obviously a moderated board, i.e. a mod will punish a poster for proscribed conduct.

OK, fine: "You violate the rules, you pay the price:" got it, that's the way it is at WoV.

So I checked this forum out, high and low, looking for the "forum rules" and found none.

A use of the search function found no forum rules.

I did find a link to dealing with troublesome posters, and the only suggestions in that regard from admin are to block the pest, and report it.

Seems unfair to ban someone when no rules have been broken, and those offended could have blocked him.

Just sayin'.

There are no specified rules on this free for all. That's good. The use of the N-word crosses a line (with the intention of being banned by the way).

Free speech just means the government can't restrict what you say if it's within bounds (ie: no yelling fire in a crowded area or perhaps if testifying in court). It doesn't mean we have to allow dumbasses to say what they want on our property.

I agree...Like a few others said, Singer was pretty funny at times....had me laughing more than once....Only thing I didn`t find funny was talking about deceased spouses.....But Dan`s house and Dan`s rules. He`s always seemed like a fair guy to me

Well, I just want to make one thing clear. I technically do not consider myself an AP, but in case anyone considers sports bettors APs, I want to say this. The handicapping industry is 95% con men or self-deluders. When it comes to sports betting, there can be a lot of smoke and mirrors. There are, however, records that, while they might not absolutely prove anything, provide evidence that would take a lot of back-breaking contortions to arrive at a different conclusion than what the records indicate.

For example, the stuff in the infamous "package" that I would absolutely not post online because it's copyrighted and because the author is not a kind and generous man, is the McCusker Report material. The (Mike) McCusker Report is formally titled "Tipsters or Gypsters?" and that is not exactly the kind of title that is designed to puff and fluff professional handicappers. "Tipsters or Gypsters?" was not a contest. It was an objective accounting of handicappers' records in various sports that also included subjective consumer-oriented summaries of their business practices and reputations. It was brutal, and it had multi-year records, which is probably the main reason the author stopped publishing after about 15 years. He went from about 140 handicappers to fewer than 20 -- nobody wanted their multi-year records published with harsh bios because it exposed them as non-winners.

If you did well in the McCusker Report, it was possible you were a degenerate and lost money doing other things, but it wasn't too likely you lost money doing the sports on record.

Another indicator: off shore sports books have formal accounts that contain histories of everything. If somebody has put half a million or a million dollars through one book with hundreds of wagers and hasn't lost anything, that would indicate he or she probably knows what they are doing.

So there are ways around bullshit quotients when it comes to sports betting claims.
