Thread: The Lone Gunmen

  1. #1
"The Lone Gunmen" was a spin-off series of the X-Files, and a great play on words. Now that JFK files are going to released, it seemed like a timely title.

But my post isn't about JFK.

Does anyone else know that, as larger vehicles like buses and trucks approach Las Vegas on I-15 out by the Speedway tourist attraction south of the airport, they are required to pull off for an eyeball inspection? I was told of a bus that failed to do so and was immediately surrounded by a handful of police motorcycles, sirens wailing. Evidently, the fee for failing to stop is $500.

I haven't seen this publicly promoted or even noted, so that seems strange. It's also an interesting adjustment if the Mandalay shooter was a "lone wolf" gunman, as the sheriff and mayor stated just four hours after the event.

The sudden presence of bomb-sniffing dogs on the monorail platforms is also interesting. I admittedly use the monorail just a dozen times a year or so, but I had never previously seen them.

Looking on Google Maps, there's a Nevada DOT inspection area there.

I've never had a bus pull into the inspection station before, so I'm wondering if this is a new protocol.

Maybe they were looking for illegal immigrants. You know, the porn slappers.
