Thread: How would you play this casino offer?

  1. #1
So, I'm currently in Las Vegas right now, playing both the November and December offer just 2 days apart.

The first $750 I took as slot play. It didn't turn out so well, and I only ended up with $460.

The cashier and Total Rewards attendant gave me the option of getting table game chips instead. She said they would be "play until you lose" chips.

I know that's a far superior deal than slot play which can only be run once. Here's the catch though. They give you seven $100 chips and two $25 chips and you can only play even money bets.

Now, I've won several hands in a row before, and lost several in a row before. I'd like to leave with some money.

    What would you do?

I would get free play and sell it to Axel for $600. If you are interested let me know.

Whoa, take the money and run.

My thought was bet pass and don't pass simultaneously at craps with a small hedge on midnight, to ensure a profit, but the casino might not allow it.

    What, Me Worry?

If they gave $25 chips I'd take those no questions asked. But with only 7 bets on a blackjack game, one bad split and double would kill your chances of cashing out something.

Can you use the free play on VP? If so, find the best low limit you can find and play it through only once, cash out and quit.

    jbjb is correct.

"Play until you lose" casino play and run-it-once VP are about equivalent.

House edge on blackjack is around 0.65% if it's an 8-decker paying 3:2 with splitting up to 4 times and double after split.

So that's worse than full pay Jacks or Better, but better than most other VP games, especially at low limits.

And there's less variance in the blackjack, especially because you're not dedicating 2% of the return to a royal, which is fairly unlikely to hit.

So yeah, blackjack is better if you want to leave with as close to $750 as possible, but in terms of EV it's not very different, assuming you play decent VP.

Also I'm guessing you can get more $25 play-until-lose chips if you ask for them, instead of the $100s.

Maybe not, but I would try.

Actually, I'd think there's more variance in the BJ if you have 7x$100 and 2x$50. Plus, the strategy gets all wonky when you use free-bets, because doubling and splitting is weird.

Just play it off on something like $1 7/5 BP.

Yeah if you gotta play off the $100s, I agree.

First of all which TR casino allows you to play these monthly offers just two days apart? My offer calendar for Caesars Palace listed a total of five days in November for my free play offer and the December offer is sometime after the Great Gift Wrap Up.

No one asked the big question: will this be your ONLY play while in Vegas?

If it's your ONLY play you might want to use it at 25-cent VP which I think is 6/5 at best, or play single coin at higher denominations only to get more "play time" in.

I'm going to check my offer calendar for December after I post this but my November dates were around November 9th.

My offer for this promotion was indeed around November 9th. The December offer is mid month. $900 per trip.

There are other offers for $250 and they can be taken twice each month and there are no blackout dates.

Isn't there a four day period between booking ANY offers?

I stayed at Planet Hollywood from November 27th to the 29th, checking out on the 30th. I checked into Ballys today. The free casino play can be picked up on December 3rd.

Thanks RS, Dan. I will try VP. Don't know how good the pay tables are here at Bally's though.

If you're going to run it through VP choose Pick a Pair VP assuming the casino has it. Much lower volatility than non-Pick a Pair VP (The royal is only about .05% of the total payback percentage). Otherwise, as another forum member suggested, bet the pass and don't pass at the same time (have a friend do the don't side with a cash bet and you do the pass with the chip plus the hedge on midnight).

Video Blackjack is also a consideration. Very low variance.

Actually that's not a joke, people have done sneaky shit like that like cashing in sports tickets and or slot tickets from people posting stuff online. I dont know what information one could get with the right story or connections with an just a letter or offer code.

  19. #19
Good point, Axel. One should never post sports tickets online unless it's a copy after you've cashed the original ticket.

Gee, I wish my offer calendar allowed me to get my $900 during the GGWU... but it didn't.
