Axel, the most well known American handicapper is Marc Lawrence. I have no current formal business relationship with him, and haven't talked to him directly in quite a long time If you're interested in my reputation, dial him (or his son) sometime and simply ask. Seems like an elegant, efficient way to get answers. Find the most high profile guy, ask about a low profile guy, see what the recognized high profile guy with the television show and national newsstand annuals says. Not complicated.
I'm not sure how this is related to what I asked. AGAIN, I'M NOT QUESTIONING YOUR REPUTATION OR ABILITY.

I have no agenda. I was just asking YOU some questions for curiosity sake. I dont want to make calls, go to seminars or pick up packages, not that I wouldn't be open to any or all of that. It seems as if you are avoiding some simple questions for whatever reason(I admit it does seem strange you cant just answer some simple questions without asking me to investigate myself, it feels as if I'm talking to the guy who just wants me to go to the timeshare seminar so they can convince me it's good idea). I'm not asking you for any trade secrets or anything.

    Yes...strange, isn't he?

He either ignores simple questions, or his answer requires a ditz-English dictionary to decipher.

I was not implying HE was strange. I said, IT was strange.

I had a feeling one of you guys might use what I said to attack him. I hoped not, but I guess that was dumb to even think there was a chance it wouldnt be used to attack him. I think the making of this thread is BS in the first place, perhaps its no big deal to him. I was hoping it would give him a chance to explain more about this stuff.

I didn't accuse you of implying anything...I asked you a question, but it wasn't a demand or anything.

You must have missed it, but he already admitted to having clients.

So then when you ask him if he has clients, and then he is evasive...what does that mean?

I dont know. Perhaps he thought I should have known that since you say he's allready claimed he has clients. Hell, he may have even told me before and I just forgot.
I'm sure I have at least skimmed most of his posts but I don't commit it to memory.

I must admit, I'm skeptical (that may be to harsh of a word, let's just say I raise an eyebrow) of anyone that has a sales pitch, clients, seminars, makes money via affiliates, websites, books etc from sports.

I can teach people in theory how to make millions APing, the math will prove it, I can give examples, but in reality, thats probably not whats going to happen.

that reminds me of a joke.

One day, a little boy asks his dad what the difference between theory and reality is.

The dad tells his son to ask his mother if she will sleep with the next door neighbor and the garbage man for 500k.
So, the little boy goes up to his mom and asks, "Mommy, would you ever sleep with the next door neighbor and the garbage man for 500k?"
She says, "Of course, I would don't be ridiculous."

The boy reports back to his father and tells him what she said.

The dad now tells his son to go ask his sister if she will sleep with the boy next door and her teacher for 750k.
So, the little boy goes up to his sister and asks, " Hey sister, would you ever sleep withthe boy next door and your teacher for 750k?"
She says, "Of course I would don't be ridiculous."

The boy reports back to his father and tells him what she said.

when the son asks what this all means.
The farther says, "in theory, we are sitting on a fucking goldmine, but in reality, we are just living with a couple of whores."

Marc Lawrence is his character reference.

On his website, Lawrence says his 10* picks are 33-0....and his next pick is for sale for $60.00.

    C'mon man.

Clearly, the website does not state what coach posted above. I do not use historical trends or angles doing what I do, but Marc Lawrence does. I provide the following for those who do not understand sports betting. I had not visited the site in more than a year, but here's what I saw.

What the ad states is that his NFL Game of the Year uses a combination of trends that are a cumulative 33-0 against the spread and are all applicable to the game he's chosen. Directly across the page, in a blurb selling that game, Lawrence lists his 15-year record for his Game of the Year at 11-4 ATS, which is what it is. Nowhere in the ad does Lawrence say his 10 star plays are 33-0 ATS.

What coach belly wrote above is simply incorrect. It's completely wrong. Go to the site and read the ad copy yourself. Why would coach lie about ad copy? Maybe he doesn't understand it. Maybe he felt the need to display his objectivity.

I had no idea redietz had customers or clients until I saw this thread.

Since the thread is totally inappropriate and I don't understand why Dan hasn't removed it, I'm going to try to change its direction.

So a question for redietz: what happens if the Supreme Court opens up sports betting to other states? What happens in Vegas and what happens with you?

I didn't read the fine print, but I copied and pasted this right from the site

Marc's red-hot winning run on the gridiron continues Sunday with his once-a-year 10* NFL Game Of The Year. Best of all it's loaded with amazing 100% NEVER LOST winning angles inside the game that are 33-0 ATS. If you're serious about winning then you know exactly what to do!

Many, many things happen -- almost all of them good. Things change dramatically. But we'll see. My guys and I have been waiting for this to happen for a decade.

For the record, I don't publicly sell my games for $25 or $50 any longer. I'm not horribly averse to it, but I'm a purist. I took my work private quite a few years ago.

Just a quick caveat -- either coach has no idea what's he's looking at or how to read the ad copy. The record of Lawrence's NFL Game of the Year is directly across the page from what coach copied above, and it states that it's 11-4 the last 15 years. I really don't have the time to correct his lies or his naivete. So when he posts something like what's above, bear in mind he may very well not understand what he's read or is purposefully misrepresenting it. What the copy states is that the angles he has data mined inside the game are 33-0, which is true. The 11-4 record is also true.

I don't data mine. "Tipsters or Gypsters" used to call people who relied on historical trends "trendvestites." I am not a trendsvestite.

I'm off to LV -- have tape measure, will travel.

    I don't have a ditz-English dictionary, so I don't understand what you mean.

The idea that Marc Lawrence is falsely claiming to have won 33 consecutive NFL Games of the Year against the spread is beyond ludicrous. Nobody makes claims like that anymore. I haven't seen anything like that since the first year USA Today was published. If someone reads ad copy and doesn't understand that it's referring to data mining, that's on them. The ad copy is designed for people who actually have some knowledge of sports betting.

I have banned OneHitWonder because he isn't bringing anything to this forum besides trolling, and I've tired of it.

I also changed the title of this thread to remove redietz's real name. While he makes that name public, the thread title was clearly made that way for SEO purposes, and that is not allowed here.

Back on Sept 2 in the Sports & Sportbetting section redietz put up a thread called my favorite line of the day. He put the line up well before gametime. It was James Madison -7 vs. East Carolina. He wrote some cryptic stuff about it but it's obvious he thought James Madison should have been favored by more points. James Madison won the game 34-14.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

Dan, I really applaud this. And it is not that I want to see anyone that is skeptical of AP banned. I am not generally in favor of censorship. But there comes a time when you have to ask is this person's only goal here, their only reason, to be negative and destroy the site?

Maybe this is an opportunity for all of us to do a little better.

Is it too late for me to get in on that? As a penalty I would be willing to lay an extra 10 points or so.

I want to comment on Dan's banning of Onehit. For those of you thinking this was unfair and questioning Dan, Onehit (posting a garnabby) boasted today on one of those garbage sites that MrV belongs to, that he was trying to manipulate the google search, which is why he used Reds real name in the title and that he believes he succeeded.

Just as I have been saying....some of these people, have an agenda. And once that is clearly recognized....they shouldn't be tolerated. Bravo, again, Dan.

OneHit is someone with a very low tolerance for pushback, and someone who isn't quite all together mentally. He never responds to a fact with a fact. He responds with a speculation drawn from a set of conclusions he's already made. He opines. And he was posting so many times, kind of in the name of preventing people from gambling, that he was ruining the site. I thought it better for someone like me, who is positioned to pushback with facts from the public domain, to take him on than anonymous AP players. He went off the deep end for no real reason, and that's on him.

So the bottom line was he thought I was trolling for clients on this site but supposedly I didn't want to use my name without periods because -- damn if I know. So his solution was to post my real name in a thread title so people could find me? Thereby aiding my trolling for clients, I guess. That's tiltawhirl logic requiring meds. Normally you have to pay people to sprinkle your name on sites.
