Once I was playing poker, and I had pocket aces, and the dude 2 seats from me flopped set. So he raises heavy, and I called, and in the end on the river I got my ace. So his girlfriend walks over 5 min later and comments that the stacks look low. So he starts telling him the story, referring to me as "this motherfucker". "this mother fucker calls me at the rive, and then this motherfuck gets the ace on the river. And I was just so disgusted...(the dealer should stop that talk since there is a rule about critisizing the play of ithers)...so the 3rd time he used the word motherfucker I chimes in...."If i am a mother fucker,..its your mother im fucking". SO he says "what did u say". And I ignored him. He asked me again. And I ignored him as the dealer called the floor. Then the dude stood up and walked toward me....as the floor manager walked up. I just calmly sat and let it unfold. He could easily have got a free punch in....and he was half my age, and i would not say I would have had a chance in a fight. But they called security and ushered him out. I had security walk me to my car. And that was the end.

Since this thread was originally about Doxxing, I want to discuss message boards and OSN (Oregon Surveillance Network) and other databases used by casinos to identify AP's.
On another site in the past two week, a professional or semi-professional blackjack player (he is retired from his career, but supplementing retirement), posted his real first name.
He is foreign born and there had been a joke made about his name and he responded by correcting it.
On Friday there appeared a new entry in OSN, with his picture, full name, a picture of his vehicle and a picture of his license plate number. A devastating entry!
I believe that mention of his first name had a lot to do with it. It allowed casino personnel to put a name with his face. And yes, casino folks DO monitor these sites. This is why doxing is SUCH A BIG DEAL to AP's, especially card counting AP's that fight the battle of being allowed to play everyday.
This is also, why it is important to play unrated. A blackjack AP has to give up comps in the name of longevity. And really the casinos are giving back less and less all the time, so you aren't giving up that much.
Other than free play, all the other comps are minimal in real value for people who live in vegas.
Most people who live locally can eat at home easily for 10 dollars a day. 3 eggs and 2 pieces of toast and butter costs 1,00 for breakfast, a tuna or cold cut sandwich with a side of potato salad costs 2 dollars, and for 7 dollars you can have steak or chicken with a baked potato and veggie for dinner.
So if someone gets 3meals from the casino totaling 70 dollars for the day.....the only real value they get out of that is 10 dollars looking strictly at monetary savings.
And if you live locally and get free rooms...the only thing you might save is the cost of electricity and water you would use when you are home.
Its like a business man that travels and the company pays for food and lodging up to 120 dollars a day based on receipts submitted . In that case the only thing he saves out of his bank account is 10 dollars..since he is still paying rent at home, and he would have spent 10 dollars on food that day on his own.
So for people looking at gambling strictly as a business calculating winnings and subtracting expenses......comps are nice window dressing....but not great for accounting purposes

I have never counted comps and comped meals as part of my 'compensation' or winnings. It is just an extra benefit. While I agree with Larry's point, I think his numbers are fudged a little. Prior to moving to Vegas, I made 7 trips, one for 5 weeks. To qualify for comped rooms, I would "tone down" my spread at one property and play 3-4 hours straight to qualify for a comped room. Toning down my spread for 3-4 hours was costing me 90-120 dollars, for rooms which were dirt cheap at the time, like $29 or $39 at places like Imperial palace (at the time) or Harrah's or Flamingo. Downtown was even cheaper! Didn't make sense so I stopped that pretty quickly, employed my full spread and paid for my rooms.
3 eggs and toast is more than most people eat for breakfast normally. May people skip it. So replace a bowl of oatmeal, or a bowl of dry serial. It rather cheap.
As far as 2 dollars for lunch. Tuna, left over meatloaf sandwich, cold chicken sandwich, and a side of chips brown bagged to work cost 2 dollars, maybe 3 at the most.
Leaving 6 dollars for dinner. Fuck you can buy an entire roasted chicken at costco for 5 dollars...already cooked. You can buy a steak for 5 dollars, and a potato for 50 cents......its not hard to live on 10 dollars a day.Pasta meals cost very little...much less than 6 dollars when you arent having meat.
Unless you are talking about buying a 6 dollar starbucks twice daily, You can get a value meal at most fast food places for 5 bucks. Add another 2 bucks a day for snacks....so you are up to 12 dollars. Wow. So 70 dollars in food comps per day is worth about 12 dollars. instead of 10. And you dont even have to go home and pay for gas. Buy a value meal for 5 bucks or brown bag it like so many workers do to work.
