Pprobably sniffing for counterfeit dice because someone on the internet has been insisting they saw 18 y.o.'s in a row, when they couldn't possibly have.
the technology is also there to xray all baggage....but its time consuming and involves an expense of hiring more people to handle lines.
Its used in hotels overseas....and thats the wave of the future eventually in the USA once another type of incident happens in vegas or high profile area.
In the current climate...hotels will open themselves to laawsuits if the technology is there to prevent a disaster, and they do nothing.
The article is misleading on several issues. K9 units have been used in Las Vegas casinos for over 5 years and walk through casinos regularly, especialy Wynn and Bellagio.
Also, several Las Vegas casinos have for decades had their security guards carry loaded weapons. Mandalay Bay decided not to pay the extra $30,000. in liability insurance to cover all their guards to carry.
Proof, here is a 2010 quote about a Bellagio robbery:
I love dogs of any kind..
