Anyone know the true story behind Shackleford and the Venetian? I'm really curious about it now.

I have a feeling that it may have had something to do with his autistic behavior. Even his staunchest critics have to admit that he's a brilliant mathematician, so I doubt the Venetian had an issue with his job skills.

Was he possibly making some of the women there feel uncomfortable? He bristles whenever anyone brings up his time at the Venetian, which makes me believe that something embarrassing took place.

Anyway I doubt anyone knows anything about this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Yes, 6-5 has been a great move by casinos. Why? It only hurts one group of people, APs. It has no impact on plopppies. In fact, it helps them, since they lose their money quicker so they have time to do other things.

This is what most APs don’t get. A casino’s business model is NOT to see how much money APs can extract from them, contrary to what most APs think.

Here’s the math behind a non-counter playing good basic strategy on the 6-5 and 3-2 bj.
3-2 Game: Money x time = lose it all
6-5 Game: Money x less time = lose it all

See in both cases they lose it all. 3-2 does not help the ploppy. 6-5 does not hurt the ploppy.

Being on these forums, especially BTF, I’ve found it interesting that so many APs, including Norm and Don, don’t understand this key point. 6-5 does not hurt a ploppy any more than 3-2. It only hurts the AP. And this is the NOT the target customer for casinos.

Look, I hate 6-5, but I get it from the casino side. This was the smartest move they made along, with H17, and getting rid of early surrender. Casinos have made it to where they are discouraging APs from playing bj. And I’d do the same thing if I was in their shoes.

That could be part of it, but based on how much of a grudge he has against the Venetian, I bet there's more to the story.

Didn't the Venetian terminate him? I wouldn't be surprised if sexual harassment or some other type of lewd behavior got him in hot water. He's always so cringy around women and I could picture him making a remark that was innocent (in his mind) but was lewd and creepy to others.

Someone on Gambling Forums once mentioned that Shackleford was supposed to go on an excursion a while back (I think hiking?) and the woman in charge flat out told him that she didn't want him to attend because he made her feel uncomfortable. It wouldn't surprise me if something similar happened at the Venetian.

Some good discussion at GF between Freddy and Mission on Heather’s claim a few weeks ago about Rolling the same number 8 times in a row on a Roulette Wheel. Freddy has rightfully so been pushing that no one, including the Wiz has questioned the story. Alan to this day still deals with the 18 Yo’s but nothing on this mathematical improbable miracle.

By the way, good to see Mission back in action. Hopefully he stops in over here. His math work is right up there with anyone’s when analyzing a game or other issue.

I don't appreciate or understand that at all. I guess the respondent has me mixed up with someone else, although he has been at WoV for years, so he should know.

Redietz' "cure" for coronavirus is far worse than the disease. It can only go to his ideology. There are already studies out that say half a billion people will be thrown into extreme poverty as a result of the economic meltdown and that hundreds of thousands of impoverished children will die. Redietz avoids any mention of these consequences. If he has his way with continuing the shutdown then we can take the half a billion number and throw it out the window. Jack it up to over a billion. And those hundreds of thousands of children that will die will turn into millions.

Redietz has no concern about the long term consequeces of the shutdown. The "big wave" of conronavirus infections that are supposed to hit next fall won't materialize. This isn't 1918. The quaranting by high risk people, social distancing, masks, business' running at less than capacity, constant cleaning and disinfecting, plexiglass dividers have and will have a big effect.

But redietz and his ilk will continue the fear mongering. People in fear are easier to control. Thats the ultimate objective of the hard left. Control.

I did ask over there, I don't think I'll get an answer for a while, if ever. Thought I'd ask here, since I was over here anyways. You're correct you don't make the rules. In my opinion sometimes the rules can't or don't cover everything someone needs to use some logic make a decision either way. That being said, I thought you were someone who was opposed to that type of moderating(making up rules after the fact). Isn't that kind of what happened to you when you got banned? I guess it probably wouldn't be a good time for you to tell Mike you don't like the way he's moderating the site

Yeah I have no idea where Tasha/ Nathan posts or what she's doing, or if she's okay. Thought she had a sock puppet over there but I can't really confirm that, I thought she was supposedly supposed to be Cookie Monster here? Whatever the case, I just noticed now, that she hadn't posted under her normal alias in quite some time. Think she had been working quite a bit during the shutdown, so perhaps she caught the virus.

I will say this. There are some things that aren't really covered by the rules. For instance, a couple years ago, while I was banned, during that period that Mike had zero interest in talking to or about me, someone posting as Sid the Squid, made a post at WoV asking for any personal information on me, pictures, address, phone number ect. Now technically, me not being a member, that shouldn't have been against the rules should it? But Mike banned sid the squid, and I think rightfully so. And Mike did so without me even requesting it.

I don't think this situation is all that different. Although as you point out I am not a member at WoV, I am still a member of the AP community and that is a pretty viscous thing to say about someone. And yes I did request that the comment be removed (which it hasn't been) but I did not ask for, or suggest in any way that anyone be suspended (which they were). To be honest that surprised me a little bit. I guess if I am going to post anywhere under Mike's control, I am going to have to get used to that kind of thing aren't I?

I'm all for Forum owners taking action based on things said on other forums, especially when it comes to certain things like what just happened to you, that was a pretty vicious thing to say. I'm not sure if you've ever said any racist comments, but I don't think so? For some reason, I think RDW has you confused with someone else that was banned for some type of racist comment on Wizard of Vegas.
