I have always looked at wall tents and such as something one would have if they plan on occupying a site for a significant period of time. Plus they are really only beneficial in inclement weather. A popup on your pickup bed seems the way to go for all things a week or less. If there is something drawing me out into the wilderness I am probably not planning on shacking up. So I would go with some sort of bed roll(cause I am getting older), sleeping bag if necessary, and a tarp. I don't even own a tent. But i do have 3 different sleeping bags depending on the expected situation.

This guy on youtube is pretty good at it.
Not sure if he is doing this on his property though.
He has a golf cart like all terrain vehicle which seems really helpful if you're going to camp for 3 or 4 months.
It can be difficult to find open land that you are allowed to make camp on for more than 2 weeks.
The government wants their money!
I guess you could just tow that in with your 4x4 truck but not necessary.
I like the video because it shows you how serious the work is setting up your camp but he shows it can be done with only one person.
These guys have decades of experience though.
Probably grew up doing this with their father.
He shows you that you can have a shower, toilet and kitchen with a wall tent.
The main point is to get out there and do it and stop day dreaming which I think is going on 2 or 3 years for me now lol.
