It's not possible to be too analytical or otherwise logical?
Because everything in their life is governed by logic, they also have no filter when it comes to addressing people. They will speak to others in a direct manner and this can come across as inappropriate.

I personally have this social problem.

If I only lie 10 times in my life am I a liar? If I lie 11 times instead of 10 am I a worse liar? Same goes for stealing and murder. If I only murder once am I not a murderer? So your not a murderer unless you kill how many people? Same goes for child molesting... your logic would say that guy only molested once so he isn't a child molester. How many children does it take? How many times do you have to steal to be a thief. You see the problems here? I don't expect any of you to really look and analyze the discussion here because to do that you would have to admit that you are far worse than you think you are as a person.
how sad it would be for me personally to live a life where I needed to presume everything said to me could be a lie because everyone is a liar.
A wife or child telling me that they love me is a possible lie because everyone is a liar. An accomplishment of a loved one looked askance at because everyone is a cheater.
Yes sometimes on rare occasions I might get disappointed in finding out a lie or cheating occurred....but I would rather occasionally feel disappointed than all the time feel skeptical therebye decreasing my joy and pride.

So all of a sudden we go from lying and cheating...... to murder and child molestation. Most people can discern between such acts. For instance I could hire a babysitter, knowing that the baby sitter being human has lied sometime in the past without even knowing the specifics. Yet if I knew the baby sitter was a child molester in the past, even once.....I would not hire.

This is because I live life in anything but all or nothing world views.

Its ok to draw distinctions between shoplifting as a teen and child molesting as a teen, or murder as a teen vs lying when you tell your girlfriend that you like her new hairdo.

And there is a difference in lies. You can lie and tell a woman that her child is so "cute" when in fact the child is rather the opposite. You can cheat on your girlfriend with another woman...and eventually end up with the "other woman". And then its fun on TV shows, to watch the "other woman" complain that the man is cheating on HER.

not all lies are created equal....just as all cheating is not created equal.....humans with a workable brain must sort out whats worth noting and whats worth tossing into the garbage bin of the mind.

Is there any difference between a child who steals a ball thats laying on the lawn of a home in their neighborhood, and someone who looks to steal unattended handbags in public places as an adult.

Its always the person who does the egregious theft or lie that likes to retort..:"after all we are all theives and liars" . Its laways the person with the big thefts and big lies that retorts..."dont judge me because everyone has lied and stolen" Its all a con. Its all a way of making it all ok in their mind. The bank robber says the child who stole a cookie is no better than him. We all steal is a great rationalization by the folks who steal the most.

If you are asking for a number and a severity of lies before one can call another person " a liar". Well that all depends on personal interaction and info collected on the person.

Just because there isnt a neat little number that can be stored in your mind......doesnt mean the "we all are......" is the only way to live a happy life.

Can someone explain what he was doing or what he accomplished by doing it. It says he was putting $100's into slots and cashing out without playing.

    What does that accomplish??

  6. #846
    Money laundering.

My guess is a TITO voucher jam, where he gets the TITO voucher but it says it's jammed in the machine, so he gets two of them when the slot attendants come around. $100 profit per induced jam (nice find Mickey).

Nothing is ever really laundered. That depends on how far the banks et al want to check out your documentation.

No one ever really gets away with anything, whether checked up on. The opposite expectation of which everyday gamblers sort of epitomize by viewing everyone else to be the competition and ploppies. In all of these stories, the other guy is always the chump.

It would establish that he gambled there on that day, as the casino's computer would show money in and out.

With that, he could later argue that he'd won a lot of money, e.g. at a table game, if audited.

That's how it was explained to me by someone doing it.

Yeah, questionable at best but then again tax cheats aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed.

As for WoN: duh-uh, of course, JWT: how quickly they forget that which is eminently forgettable.
    What, Me Worry?

Could it be putting money that may be stolen and traced by some marking or serial number into a machine in exchange for clean bills
If u scam someone and have their money...maybe they kept track of serial numbers and they call the cops and you have those bills on your person

  14. #854
Could be. There used to be some people (who shall remain unnamed) who took markers at the casino, then went to the racetrack, then bought money orders to pay back the markers with the racetrack winnings, and pocketed the difference.

And what if there are no "winnings"?

One of the senior members of one of the blackjack sites, has several times posted about how he took out markers from several casinos, didn't pay them back and eventually 'settled' for pennies on the dollar of what was owed. This person speaks of this as an "advantage play". I view it a little differently. And clearly a peek into his character.

So several years ago this person claims he was robbed of bankroll, belonging to not only himself but teammates he was working with and mentoring. In the words of Mr. Gomer Pyle, "surprise, surprise, surprise!"

Huh -- very rarely is "inimical" used. The common usage is inimicable. Not much given away with that term. Who makes the call on what label goes on whom? Is it a person, a panel, a review board?

    Was this in Nevada?

Given the fact that it is a slam dunk for a casino in Las Vegas to have the prosecutor charge a deadbeat with a felony for failure to timely repay a marker, I find this surprising. Please explain.

Sort of like that Gary Austin sports book circa 1985, down by the Sahara. They had quite a few outlier numbers, took a lot of action, then ("surprise, surprise") the book was robbed. Daylight strong arm robbery.

    Closed shortly thereafter.

I don't know the answer to that MrV. I believe it was years ago, so probably either Nevada, of Atlantic City.
