I was surprised to see Alan rattle off several different blackjack forums in his attempt to define "ploppie". He mentioned, BJ21, Blackjackinfo, and Norms's Blackjack the Forum, which Alan labeled blackjack forum.

I have never heard Alan mention anything about blackjack or playing blackjack. Why is he on or familiar all these different blackjack forums?

Makes me wonder if my encounter with Alan when I first arrived concerning tracking two tables, wasn't really my first encounter with Alan, but rather an ambush.

I'm a little confused on how someone who routinely drops big money on Slots and gets paid big money is considered a Ploppy and not an AP. For example, The Big Jackpot routinely plays more than many People's paychecks on just one spin and at least one person said "The Big Jackpot," is a Ploppy, not an AP and I was thinking,"How is The Big Jackpot a Ploppy? He plays $700 on one spin and gets paid like $5,000!"

Another person said something like,"The Big Jackpot played the equivalent of one year's mortgage for me in just one session! That scared the crap out of me!" :O

If The Big Jackpot is playing and winning big money, how is he considered a Ploppy? To me, a Ploppy is someone who plays .50 a bet, not someone playing $700 a spin... :/

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

Smart is knowing a Tomato is a fruit.

Wise is knowing a Tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

Why do you do this to yourself? You know this post is going to draw attacks for it's stupidity and rightfully so.

Do you understand what the letters A.P. stand for? Advantage Player. That would be a player playing with an advantage. It has nothing to do with whether that player wins or loses short term like the session you are talking about. That is simply gambling and a player hitting a jackpot. That doesn't make that player an AP. It makes him a gambler who hit a jackpot.

Think about Alan. Alan is as far away from an AP as you can get. He has lost a lot of money, basically his entire worth, gambling. During that run he hit at least one, I think several, 100k royal flushes. Did those hits make him an AP? absolutely not. He went on to lose those amounts plus much, much more.

But at least you have answered the ploppy question. You Tasha are a ploppy. And the casinos love you for it. Now prepare for the onslaught of criticism, because frankly you deserve it (and I think crave it).

If he's playing a -EV game that just makes him a much bigger ploppy. The chances are, if someone is betting that type of money on a -EV game they are gonna continue that type of gambling and eventually lose a shit ton. You have a very low probability of beating a -5%-14% game over 5k spins. FYI hitting for 5k while betting $700 a spin is nothing, we are taking about 7 spins. that 5k can be gone in seconds.

FYI, If anyone should be out there vulturing +EV machines, it should be you. You love slots, you frequent casinos, you don't have much money, it's definitely worth more than what you make at Wallgreens, and you have access to some knowledge that is required. It's actually perfect for you(I'm assuming you have access to multiple casinos within a few hours and that you wouldn't donk off your profits on -EV stuff)

I guess my post about the great storyteller posting about the weather hit a nerve because he hasn't done so since.

However, last night and today, the wind is howling in Vegas. Open windows rattle. The building sways, which I feel very uncomfortable about. I laid in bed all night listening to this howling and feeling this sway. So when I awoke, I went to WoV to get confirmation from the great one. Not a word. Now I have to wonder is it really happening.

It's ok, Mdoggy. You can feel free to talk about the weather if you want. At least that is real and somewhat useful.

By the way, this current weather is what Las Vegas gets when a front comes through. Other places get the wind and temperature drop along with rain, sometimes a lot of rain. We just get a day of wind and a temperature drop....no rain.

Did retard Alan ever acknowledge how stupid he was about "10k standalone must hits don't exist". Did he every say anything like "Wow, I didn't realize that. I was totally wrong about what I said. Thanks for educating me."

He'll do it at the same time Redietz does it.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

You haven't noticed the group of guys that when they are totally wrong about something they never just say, "I was wrong, or my bad", they just stop posting and ignore it hoping it will be forgotten.

It'll be a busy day for him if he acknowledges both that AND Nevada casinos not being legally required to check the IDs of every patron on the same day.

On the one hand, I get it: AlanMendelson is an insufferable human being who, for one reason or another, enjoys frequent social contact with others. He has nothing worthwhile to actually contribute vis-a-vis gambling and I'm not sure whether or not there is a forum for those involved in the informercial business...the one subject about which he might have something useful to contribute. Even then, he has nothing on the ShamWOW/SlapChop guy, cleaner criminal record (probably none) aside.

With that, he likes gambling, but doesn't really have anything beyond that to add to the forum. As a result, I strongly suspect that he trolls the forum with gambling-related nonsense because it at least gets people talking to him.

I couldn't imagine how difficult it would be to be an insufferable human being that nobody can stand talking to who simultaneously wants frequent social contact, if not outright be the center of attention. I'd almost pity him, except I have no reason to because it is his own comport that drives people away from him and, I suspect, most of it is deliberate.

If the above wasn't clear, what I am really trying to say is he is a petulant attention-seeking child. Similar, Tuttigym. Both will likely be drinking thinned mashed potatoes from a straw inside of a year anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

Good to see you back Marathon Mission. You're helping to fill the void of absentee Mad Max, who appears to have gone AWOL !

  15. #9375
I'm only sort of back. We're pretty much at the midway point (NFL Week 9) between my return and my disappearing for another long stretch, I imagine.

  16. #9376
Mission, I have really enjoyed your post over on the WOV forum.
I’m sure You have already explained this, but is your absence related to the posters themselves? Or a personal issue?

    PositiveVariance,

Thank you; that's very nice of you to say.

I present as Exhibit A, which will be my only Exhibit today as I have somewhere to go:

    https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/ques...table-formula/

As we can see, someone asks a question and I answered it. I might add that I answered it pretty well and came up with a pretty creative way to get to the solution, which anyone can follow and do for themselves, no computer programming experience needed.

To be clear, that's not to denigrate anyone who uses computer programming to answer questions like these; I simply do not know how to program. If I did, then I would use that ability to answer these sorts of questions.

After this, we see that this dog, Tuttigym, comes sniffing around my crotch for no reason other than to make his point, for the 1,000,000th time, that math totally sucks, brev.

    So, what's the point?

I guess I'll probably use the answer that I typed for an article somewhere, thereby making at least some money for the effort, but I could do that anyway and without ever interacting with anyone if I wanted to.

So, I suppose the short answer is that I don't see Forum participation as a recreational activity simply because talking to other people is generally not fun for me and tends to be even less fun on the forums.

That's not to say there aren't people I enjoy talking to. I would say I enjoy talking to a simple majority of the participants, but the cost/benefit is such that I'd generally rather abstain if the purposes are recreational and meant to be enjoyable...because the annoyance caused by the few outweighs the enjoyment of the company of the many, usually.

  18. #9378
More succinctly, I'm probably about halfway to the finish line we all must eventually cross and generally don't have time for the bullshit of nonsensical people.

  19. #9379
Nice post by Dan Druff in the Alan thread.

I didn't want to be argumentative in that thread, but I do want to qualify that I don't love gambling; I don't even like gambling. It's a job like any other.
