One of the mods suffered a medical ordeal, and Bob was called out for being disrespectful. I looked it up. Guy had a heart attack and some other stuff, but he's a multi-decade chain smoker. What exactly did you expect?!?
Which got me wondering, do you have any funny stories about people dropping dead at a place of gaming?
Sadly I can't recall anything up close. Recently I was playing at a non-smoking bar, and a little old lady went down as she was passing behind me. I only saw the reactions of the people seeing her, so I assumed the worst. But she said she was okay. They wouldn't let her stand until the security convention arrived, but after that she got up and walked away. Bartender said the lady has done it before after a drink or two.
In a poker game in Blackhawk, Colorado I saw and old man keel over dead in the middle of a poker hand. The next day in a different poker room I told the player's what happened. The first quick question was
"What was he holding?"
A man fell to the floor of what appeared to be a heart attack at the Pioneer in Laughlin. They worked on him pretty hard then the paramedics hauled him off. I later asked a security guard if they were able to revive the man. He said:
"No, he'll die on the way to the hospital."
"How do you know?" I asked.
"To much paper work if he dies here" he said.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ
I spent the winter of 97/98 in Vegas. Drove up from the south through the Hoover Dam, on my way in, around 7, 8, or 9 pm, totally dark behind the mountains, (but, north through Utah, on my way out.) There was a television report, the next day, about an accident on that road, something about a truck driver, and his daughter, going over the edge of the road, that one of them died. The next day, on Las Vegas Boulevard somewhere around the Frontier, which was on strike then, I guess a bit further down, one of my first impressions of Vegas was that the boulevard was dangerous because of the palm trees that blocked the view of the road while starting to walk across. Anyway, very shortly after, I went into one of the little convenience stores, with a couple of hotdogs for a $1, and those free coupon books for match play, etc, to use a phone to call home. I sort of looked out the window, and, wondered what was going on. Someone told me that someone got hit by a car, and, died(?) after trying to cross the road. The start of a strangely interesting winter. Experiences with people from all over the States in there, in terms of gangs, prostitutes, drug addicts, conmen, crazy persons ... you name it, but, lots of otherwise helpful ones, too.

I cross the street during high traffic because I'm a gambla.

LilredRooster aka HalfSmoke went on an out-of-control gaijin
run where he insulted DarkOz, MDawg, the Wizard, and the forum in general.
He does that every few months.

The movie clips tells me Mdawg lives in a fantasy world. Of course his posts probably told everyone that before we even got to the first movie clip.
The repeating of troll tactics like the red "tilt" sign, tells me Mdawg is a professional troll, just like Rob. We are starting to see re-runs just like Rob. With Rob he will troll me with some remark, when he used the exact same line on mickeycrimm 4 years ago and on Arci 7 or 8 years ago. Word for word. It is like watching a rerun of a show from the 70's or 80's. And now Mdawg is starting to do the same thing.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".
AxelWolf is a hypocrite, which is another trait he shares with UNKewlJ.
Over here he advises UNKewlJ not to to get "deep down in the gutter mud slinging and mud raking" with racism, antisemitism and such, and then over at WOV he starts comparing people to Hitler.
A real couple of winners. You may take people off the streets but you can't take the street out of them.

if you have some way to contact the moderator,
You could always just stay away from WOV for two weeks, suspended or not.

There’s More loyalty in the street then the business, or AP community.
First generation from the streets/poverty creates the wealth. The Second generation enjoys it , and the third generation destroys it. Rinse and repeat .: this is why the majority of millionaires are self made first generation. The struggle is needed
I still can't look away from paigower at VF. In the last several weeks, he's net + $millions. He's had a couple of losing sessions, but no losing days afaik. The good sessions go straight up. In the bad sessions, he digs a hole but then recovers to finish ahead.
I wish I could have that kind of luck playing Caveman Keno.
He's talking about, for example, J Paul Getty III, John Du Pont, Max Factor heir Andrew Luster, and so on. There are those who are born into it and then end up dysfunctional and squander what they are given. You see that sort of thing a lot in Los Angeles / Beverly Hills, but even most of those trust fund kids who are partying their lives away tend to settle down and excel eventually.
Over all though, you can't say that someone who had all the privileges and didn't have to work through college (and got to go to college in the first place) and so on, is necessarily going to achieve less than someone who got no breaks.
Let's just look at UNKewlJ for example. Broken home. Kicked out of the house and rejected by his own family. Homeless for a time. No education to speak of. Look at how he ended up. Self Loathing a-hole fits him pretty well.

People who have the resources to not have to work for day to day living expenses is one of the greatest factors in a startup being successful.
