Just went over and read all the shit happening on WOV this past week. BBB is no longer in green and says she's through with the forum because Nathan is back. I remember how heavy handed she was with Nathan. Mission had no problem with Nathan but Babs was on her ass constantly. She was always bullying her. I thought Nathan did quite the job of not responding in kind as long as she did. It took a long time but Nathan finally fired back at her. One post of that kind was all it took for Babs to declare a lifetime ban. Chickenshit.

How you fared with Babs depended on your politics. Her pet libtards got mild suspensions Ryan alone got 3-day suspensions like 7 or 8 times in a row. But she martingaled the shit out of non libtards.

Babs went bully as hell on AZDuffman because he consistently out debated here. I could see her getting madder and madder with every post.

If you recall she was reprimanded by Shack for bullying people. She never admitted any wrongdoing. Just said she "heard what he said."

I think what did Babs in was her getting angrier and angrier at the debunking of her irrational political beliefs. She got herself into a position where she couldn't save face.

My idea was to put a bunch of seating areas and chairs in front of the voting places. That way, women would still technically be allowed to vote, but they'd never actually reach the booth because they always have to sit down.

I don't know too much about how WOV is run but have had experience on other kinds of forums. Did it every occur to anyone that admins should not even be debating anything with other posters?? They should be doing their admin job and staying as neutral as possible, and that's hard to do when you start getting your personal feelings/positions wrapped up into forum content.

Are those posts deleted or left there with the bans? I'm curious what Tasha told her to piss her off. This woman sounds as deranged as our locals. It is amazing to me how many bans and such goes on at that site. It is kinda needed to keep things on target but still ....

Their bile has been backing up in their guts but now they have Nathan back and they have a chance to spew. I would bet that TDS is very common among the mods.

BBB is like a lot of middle aged women. Their beloved Hillary was beaten by Trump and TDS has warped their personalities in areas other than politics. I know several women with this type of behavior.

South Florida is def warmer than Vegas in the winter. I grew up in Daytona, mid way up Flordia's coast and that is warmer than Vegas in Winter. Vegas isn't all that warm. Dec and Jan average highs are 59/60. Flordia it is 70's.

It is summer that Vegas and desert areas get hotter. But it's a dry heat for what that is worth. I make light of that, but 110 dry heat is way better than 95 humid shit, at least in my opinion.

It would be difficult to get Admins who want to do the job, at least on certain types of forums, if the stipulation in doing so was that you functionally couldn't participate on the forum in any other way.

I'd say that a person would just want to avoid banning anyone for a discussion in which they are directly involved/something said to them and could have a different Admin look at it. For my part, it's pretty well-known that I specifically directed other Administrators (when I was one) NOT to ban someone for something they said directly to me and me alone.

Of course, it can sometimes be appropriate to remove yourself from certain threads. I believe there was a point where the impartiality of my moderation was questioned vis-a-vis political leanings, so I just said I wouldn't moderate/participate in the main politics thread whatsoever unless someone specifically complained about an infraction.

I also would say it's upon Admins to, in fact, Administrate with impartiality. I think perfectly avoiding even the appearance of partiality, while a worthy goal to aspire to, is a pretty big ask when someone is doing something for free.

Incidentally, I spent most of my life in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. Migrated to Windsor, about 210 miles up the road, for about twelve years, but, things eventually brought us back here. Windsor is in its own little biosphere with the most "growing days", in Canada, a year, which is an agricultural term for a lot of sunshine, ie, hot summers, and, winters without much snow if at all. I think that Kitchener must be at the other other extreme, with a lot of overcast days although not nearly so much rain as in past decades. Can't get lost in Windsor because there are only a handful of crooked roads. In Kitchener, it's hard to find a straight one. Lived temporarily in a few big cities, but, it's not for me.

Here's some food for thought: Portland is pretty close to the Pacific ocean, nestled in the Willamette River valley, and has a reputation for a moderate climate; snow is fairly uncommon and the temperature is usually quite comfortable year round due to the moderating effect of the ocean.

Two solid days of skiing later, I notice that over at WOV MrV is still crying like a baby over his latest suspension.

Funny how a week ago I was in Tahoe, skiing, and he whined after he got suspended, even created a whole thread over here to complain about it, and a week later, still in Tahoe, still skiing, he's still crying like a baby.

What he should concentrate on is refining his powers of concentration, firstly - by getting off the dope (bad stuff, fries the brain). Secondly, by improving reading concentration. Even a doctor, and doctors are notorious for not just poor penmanship but poor writing skills, outdid him in gathering the meaning from a simple Nathan post.
