In fairness, no I haven't prayed for blackhole recently or regularly. But I have prayed for him in the past. And as promised I will pray for him today. I seem to recall something about the front and back of a coin posted by Crimm that he claimed is the same coin, but which turned out to be two different coins from one online coin auction or another. Was that in the picture thread, and what became of the coin or coins? I recall that Alan was in the thread.

I recall the coin photos came from a book about colonial coins. Whether the obverse and reverse were of the same coin is not significant. The photos were used to catalog the coin.

You know, a guy gost to school for 8-10 years, and interns for a year or 2 for long hours and little money........and then has a chance to make a good wage...is going to do that in the world we live in.
Especially if during the 8 years of school they are accumulating250-350 k in debt.
And then when getting out and practicing, they are paying 20-30 k in malpractice insurance a year...out of their 200k a year before tax salary.

After taxes and insurance, if they have 120 k a year left..it would be alot. And then they can start to pay off their quarter of a million dollar school loan.

So dont blame the doctors. Blame the exorbitant price of universities, and the vulturing legal system that allows 100 million dollar payouts for lawsuits.that in other countries would pay 100-500k.

Its all included in the prices you pay although its all invisible.

Back to the drawing board, Inspector Cluseau. In my genealogy work I found a 4X greatgrandfather named Walter Mould who was a minter of coins in New Jersey. I figured the coins must be collector's item so looked for them on the internet. I found the New Jersey Horsehead Penny and posted a pic of the front and back in two different pics in the Genealogy thread. I didn't notice any difference but Alan did. He layed a trap by asking me if the coin was mine. I said no, that I had pirated the pics off the internet. Thats when he explained that the pics were of two different pennies.

Your wrong... I know the bad news. I knew it when I was 9 years old. The bad news is that I am going to die and it doesn't matter when. I don't need a doctor to tell me something is wrong with my body... I can feel it. Many tribal people or Indians know when they are dying. This is nothing new. People like you want to take fake medicine or have surgery so you can live another 30 years to sit around and watch movies or build families are living in denial and a lie. You aren't going to be able to download little computers into your blood stream and live forever. You are the type of people who can't live with the bad news. For people who get no joy in life and provide no joy to others, I can see the point that it doesnt matter when they die.
For people who provide no value in life to themselves or others...the same goes.

There are people who want to prolong joy. Prolong the value they get from others and give to others. Its selfish and giving at the same time. Being around for ones children to provide help and guidance, and the selfish need to feel joy when doing so.
The simple joysof planting flowers or growing vegetables, or fixing a car,or driving a car.

For people who look back on their lives as useless.....and look forward on their future as being similarly useless....then there is no reason to want to live.

Now I didnt say there should be no reason to live. Iam just saying that I can see it, if they felt that they didnt have a reason to live.

The lives we had lead in the past along with a view of poor prospects in the future can lead one to welcome death.

But there are others who have alot to look forward to, that shun the thought of death and will do all they can to prolong life...whether its for selfish reasons of continuing to live a happy fulfilling life,,,,,or for reasons to help others around them.....or a combo of both

Thats what seperates us from dogs or apes. They HAVE to let mother nature do its work. However we as humans can do something to prolong our lives.

How sad it would be if we let children die because we felt we are all destined to die so why not sooner than later.

Monets view is the view of someone who let a medical condtion go untreated for years and years and years.....so its convenient NOW to have that philosophy. Once you are at the point of no return.....I guess its mentally healthy to adopt that philosophy, rather than kick yourself and say "i should have had it looked at years ago"

Okay, it's in your other main thread. No harm in expressing some doubt. I will check out that thread a little more closely, tomorrow. I guess that the lesson here is not to make large bets out of the blue in response to someone who is clearly just trying to provoke something. Why take the chance? BTW, it's Inspector Clouseau.
