When did he file bankruptcy, and has anybody bothered to contact the bankruptcy court to view the bankruptcy file?

You can learn a lot about a person that way, if you really want to (not that you should, but you could).

As for the judgments: what court/where, what amount, and has he satisfied them yet or are they still unpaid?

Sometimes decent, solvent people get sued and have judgments entered against them, but they then pay them off / satisfy them ASAP in order to try to "make things right" and begin to rebuild their shattered credit.

    So would you?

I personally think researching anyone is crap...even Singer...whatever anyone wants to put out there is their business...any more than that should be off limits....I`d put that in the same category as contacting the FBI or Police

Where've you been? It was once--in 1996 (at the end if my AP years--which will dull the edges here a little bit I'd say....) and it's been put up on almost every forum since 2000 whenever the natives can't out-debate or out-insult me It was also on my website from 2000-2009. So I hope Mickey digs it up again and posts it.

However, the scrapers-by here would never get it. It was a financial tool used to increase wealth. How many times did Trump/business file--3 or 4? Did his accounts empty out, and is he worth more today than yesterday?

Oh don't tell me. It was a special sign up promo worth $500 per new player. I get it.
Something like that. It was at Westgate years ago.
Sorry mickey--you should have copied and pasted like you usually do. It was $600, it was at the Westin Casuarina, and the casino made a ton of money on the promo. Every self-proclaimed "AP" in LV cane out if the woodwork and signed the homeless, UNLV students, and anyone passing thru town, which ruined it for everybody.

Years ago is right. Maybe 2005. About 9 years after my BANKRUPTCY filing!

I need to know: how did the casino make a ton of money?

Rob is right about the place, time, and what was going on. The Westin got their asses handed to them.

How many creditors did you stiff and for how much?

Wouldn't filing BK and stiffing creditors be a great AP play?

    Just asking.

We do it every day and I just sit and wonder why the law allows it.

Isn't it true that he who dies with the most debt wins?

Singer admits to losing $250,000 playing video poker from 1990 to 1996. He filed bankruptcy in 1996. Instead of paying his bills he blew the money gambling. Then filed for bankruptcy and stiffed his creditors forever What a swell guy....and a gambling addict.

I would if I had incentive to; but trying to learn more about one of you guys wouldn't be a good enough reason for me to invest the time and money required.

I might google though, just for shits and giggles.

As for Rob, it is not a disgrace to file bkcy, nor to owe money; it does not automatically show bad character.

A criminal conviction, e.g. for assaulting a spouse or significant other, is more indicative that a person is probably a loser.

Which is EXACTLY the reason for all of redietz' stupid antics.
    Want proof of this one?

    BUT IT CAN BE.
iT DEPENDS. For example if he stiffed creditors because he preffered to gamble over paying debt, or for paying for good and services...... that is the sign of poor character. I was raised to get 3 jobs and work my ass off before i even considered bankruptcy to avoid paying for credit cards, rents, and other bills.

Now a business that is dug in deep in debt, I can see using bankruptcy as a legal tool.

But someone who declares bankruptcy simply because they are too lazy to get multiple jobs to pay off personal debt for goods service and rent...Simply because its just too hard to pay off....well cry me a river......that person is a tool.

  17. #1477
The #1 reason people file for bankruptcy is illness usually cancer without sufficient insurance. For them a second job is out of the question and they probably can't work even one job.

well if singer(which is who we are talking about) had high chemo and surgery costs hanging over his head......then you made a relevant point

  19. #1479
I have always been critical of Rob's tax scheme including deducting groceries and dinner with his wife as business expenses for a professional gambler.

I know several business people who have filed for bankruptcy. I don't consider it a moral failing.

My health insurance is though Massachusetts Health Connector. I paid $2,100 per moth last year. It was probably based on my income. I now pay $250 per month
This is not how heath insurance should be handled but that is not my argument. It is all based on income.

It is not perfect for an individual to make money while retired. Or save money on insurance. But then again, isn't that what we are all trying to do?
