Thread: Weed

So now that it's legal in Nevada, how has it affected the Las Vegas experience, if at all?

Smell it on the streets or in the casino hotel hallways?

    Any ads for weed stores?

Any wetback "weed slappers" center strip, touting a particular outlet?

How about restaurants which specialize in cannabis-infused dishes?

    It's a new world.

Man o' man, what a great idea that I had not thought of! Creme brulee anyone?

Can you imagine cannabis infused ice cream?

The Munchies are tough enough to fight off, but with this there'd be no hope at all of keeping the pounds at bay.

Portland has something pretty novel: Arcane Revelry: see:

I'd no idea weed figured prominently in Jewish history; from the article:

"Arcane Revelry co-founder Crystal Feldman hatched the idea for her cannabis dinner during a religious dinner—a Seder celebration that featured cannabis instead of sacramental wine. This is in keeping with tradition, she says. "Ancient Jewish law and tradition speaks specifically about cannabis consumption in rituals for the purpose of connecting with spirit," says Feldman."

Hey LarryS., maybe it's time to pick up that bong, eh?

Being that your an attorney, you might want to look up the actual law. IIRC, the law states that it is not legal to smoke in public, only in your home. Perhaps some sort of licensed lounge, I don't know.

But it is illegal to smoke anywhere in public, including the street, and even though the law already stated that, I believe the Hotel industry had addition language added about it being illegal to smoke in hotel rooms, even smoking rooms. Now how much any of that is enforced, I have no idea.

I have never seen an ad on TV for dispensaries. Probably the same law that prohibits tobacco from advertising on TV. But there are many, many billboard advertisements, including bus stops and rolling truck advertisements right on the strip.

There were numbers on the local news a month or so go from the Nevada highway dept, stating that prior to the law nearly 1 in 5 drivers, something like 18.6% were impaired from Marijuana use and after the law it is nearly 1 in 4, something like 24.5%. Where and how they came up with those numbers is anybody's guess.

Even before it was legal in CA, I saw a few billboards in CA about 70 miles from te NV state line in Colfax and that general area. and also on billboards in and around reno.
No tv commercials , I dont get newspapers so cant comment on that.
I dont know about CA, but its correct that in NV....for home use only. So you cant legally smoke while you are working on my brakes, or or doing laser eye surgery.

If i remember right, if you are caught with it in public its a minor citation, but after a certain amount of times I think it becomes a bigger deal.
