Thread: Hard Rock, LV sale

  1. #1
I was at Hard Rock today for a bit and everyone is saying the Hard Rock sale speculated for several days now, to Richard Branson is a done deal. I have seen no confirmation from news sources yet. Branson usually does things a bit differently, to say the least. Will be interested to see what he has in mind.

From a little play there years ago before a concert I still get offers from them.

Story from the night, was playing $25 min BJ heads up with a very nice female dealer. Just chit chatting while playing and she told me about dealing for Floyd Mayweather. Said he is the biggest ass she ever dealt with. Was told by his posse she could not talk to him, only them. Not sure if true or not but no one should ever be treated like that. Also said she was not tipped at all. Said she never wants the player to lose, except that night. And he did.

Hard Rock used to be one of the best in Vegas. You give them a certain amount of coin in and you got great mailers for many months. They have cut back some in the last year, everybody in Vegas has. They are still pretty good though.

Weirdest time I saw in Vegas was playing the Hard Rock during the Adult Video Awards weekend. Really weird stuff. LOTS of people dressed in leather and other "outfits". People exposing things that shouldn't be....think flabby butt cheeks (both sexes) in ass-less chaps. And I am talking people playing at the tables like this.

So, coindicentally THIS is AVN award week again. I mean really it's this coming weekend, and things get weirder as the week goes on. THAT is why we went today, to get our freeplay, for the week over with.

One of my friends runs Sin City Brewing and last year a fan posted a pic of him drinking a Sin City Dbl IPA with Ron Jeremy at a meet and greet. They got a lot of wanted or unwanted publicity off of it.

Unanswered question, is your family proud if you win an AVA best actress award?

All good for Vegas if it brings money into town.

What, a casino catering to women?

Don't know if it's still like this, but there was surprisingly little heat in their blackjack pits.

Their main concern was whether you were over 21. Beyond that, it seemed like no one gave a crap, as long as your bets weren't too huge.

    This was years ago, though.

They are pretty sweaty these days. And they have a lot of really crap game, including a lot of 6:5. Would be nice if those things changed with new ownership. I don't know why they would, but one can always hope. When a casino draws that younger crowd it is more about getting drunk and laid, than good gambling odds. Those drunk-tards will play anything.

Last time I was there, it was with an ex-girlfriend. She was in Vegas for a non-gambling reason, and I was there for WSOP. I think this was like 09. Wasn't interested in her anymore, but she said she wanted to see me gamble, and I knew having a girl with me at the table would be a huge reduction in heat, so I took her along.

I ran really well and won a bunch of $ quickly, and she was shocked. I tried to explain that it doesn't always go like this, but I could tell she didn't believe me. She thought I could just sit down at any BJ table and just print money.
