Hello Everyone. I was searching for a forum/online community where I can gain knowledge to improve my play. I am a entry level Diamond member. I have been monitoring this forum for about two months before deciding to join/register. It does seem that there is a lot of old beefs on here between members. I hope new memebers as well as established memebers can help make this a positive experience and share tips/recommendations on how to improve your play.

I like to play almost every game expect for 3 card poker/pai gow

If you play strictly for fun and carnival type action then your foundation of playing almost every game is sound.

However for me its been better to try to master 2 games. One main game and a secondary game for when the main game has a streak of losing.

spreading yourself over many games is not for me. But good luck

Also I was curious....why did you need to monitor this site before joining for a few months. Its not like there is a charge. So you put us on notice that you are aware of alot of things that have been posted over the last few months. People tend to just join and post their questions. Referencing this on your first post seems odd. But I am sure there is a reason

Many lurk before joining a forum.
    What, Me Worry?

and for what reason would someone need months to decide. One can pretty much read a cross section of posts in a day or 2. Especially if you want to gain answers to questions on games you play. Time is money.

It's generally the trolls or sock puppets that start a new thread, say they've been reading the forum, know of feuds and whatnot, and....don't post anything else in their "intro" (re-intro, technically). Real people generally join to ask a question and are seeking advice, if they've been "monitoring" (LULZ) the forum for a while.

But I'm not the type to judge and I have been wrong before (rarely, but it has happened, IIRC). So without further ado, welcome, LAGus.

Monitor was probably the wrong word choice. I only mentioned it because I remember a post from a new member perhaps two weeks ago where people were questioning why anyone would view posts without ever replying. I just wanted to say that it can be true using myself as an example.

Gus, in my opinion our most knowledgeable member is Barney. Pay close attention to his posts and you will learn a lot about advantage play.

Let's not jump on LA Gus here. It's perfectly reasonable that he lurked for awhile before posting.

    Welcome, Gus.

I will say that if Gus suddenly transitions into quickly having strong opinions regarding the various controversies/dramas here, then I will be suspicious, but that hasn't happened yet.

You say you are an entry level Diamond. Did you earn it in 2017 or 2018?

also to further the conversation, over the last 2 months, who were the posters that satisfied your needs to improve your play. And what was the advice that you liked.
For example I have picked up tidbits on sports betting from Dan such as what angles he looks at to make a betting decision. I dont know all of them, but I know some.

    So what about you?

Thank you Dan. I earned diamond from my play in 2016 and 2017. From my understanding my 2017 diamond tier will be valid all
of 2018. I mostly earned it by playing roulette and BJ.

To be honest other than the sports betting tips from Dan, I didn’t see anything else of value for beginners. However some of that was due to me trying to figure out the acronyms that everyone used.

For example, I want to learn more about video poker. I know the basics of the game. But can someone help explain which game is recommended? I see bonus poker, double, double double etc.... What is the game that most AP players use?

I play JOB, BP, DW, BPD, and sometimes DDB. I've played DB but the opportunity doesn't come up often.

    LA Gus.
Are you retired or do you work?

You really haven't provided enough information.

    What levels do you play?
What kinda bankroll are you working with?
    Whats your risk tolerance?
What are you trying to accomplish?
Are you just trying to play smarter and cut down the house advantage?
Are you happy just earning rooms and comps, if so, do you care where, or does it have to be on the strip(assuming you are in Vegas?)?
Do you only want to play with an advantage, if so, how much of an advantage, are you looking for a specific minimum percentage or hourly rate?
Do you enjoy hustling bonus slot machines an stuff like that?
