Thread: Las Vegas resort fees increased for most hotels in 2018 - full list of all resort fees & increases

  1. #1
NOTE: This is the 2018 list.

For the 2019 version, go here: https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...-list-for-2019

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Resort fees are a mandatory addition to any hotel price. Note that, while many of these fees appear offensively high, it's all a numbers game. The fees are used so the hotel can be listed with deceptively low prices online. For example, a hotel with a base rate of $70 and a $30 resort fee really costs $100+tax, but is listed online as $70, placing them higher up in the list sorted by price. This should be illegal, but it's not, and most hotels in Vegas are now doing it.

With that said, here's a list of Las Vegas hotel resort fees in 2018, as of February 6.

The resort fees "include" internet access, as well as a few other mostly-useless "perks".

However, parking is not included in resort fees at many properties, which will be listed in blue.

The hotels with increased fees are listed first, followed by those remaining the same, followed by a list of those with no resort fees.

    Dan, you're alright. Great info.
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

Here's an idea. Just list the room for $0.00 with an $80-$120 a night resort fee!

Main Street station is not a stations casino, never has been.

You think you're being funny, but we may not be too far from the days of $0.01 hotel rooms with $50 type resort fees, especially at lower end properties.

The only reason we haven't quite gotten there yet is for fear of public backlash or FTC action, but they're slowly pushing towards that, with some of the cheaper hotels in Vegas now having a higher resort fee than base rate on most days.

This is actually the best benefit of being a Caesars Diamond right now, as you end up getting a substantial discount on each hotel stay, especially at the cheaper places.

    Whoops, I'll fix that.

And I'll move Fiesta up into that category.

How do room prices compare today, with resort fees added in, to how they were pre-fee?

Indexed for inflation, are they higher, lower, same?

I hung a link to this thread on vpFREE as it should be valuable information to most vpFREE'ers.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

Great information -- all in one place.

I wanted to mention that Boyd's Gold Coast, next to the Rio for you WSOPers, has jacked its resort fee up to a ridiculous $23.70. It was just a couple of years ago that the resort fee was $5.

If you are comped at the Boyd properties, you are not charged the resort fee. I think the Fremont does something weird, though, like charging for wifi even if the resort fee is comped.

It was only four or five years ago that I commented on the absurdity of the D downtown being one of the first properties whose resort fee was as high as its room rate. Now there's plenty of that trickeration all over the city.

Resort fees, pay to park: welcome to the "new" Spin city, I mean Sin city.

The only defense I’ll give CZR is that they have made it easier to get the minimum 15,000 points for base Diamond. With the double Tier Credit deal this month, one day of 2500 points gets you the 5000 bonus. The bonus is also doubled so you get 15000 TC’s for 2500. Not a bad deal for someone who pays resort fees and makes multiple trips a year and stays at their properties,

Why pay the expense of air travel, car rental, resort fees and parking fees to go to Las Vegas anymore when casino gaming is now available within easy driving distance?

Sure, Las Vegas offers more choices of casinos, entertainment and dining, but the cost to get there, stay there, and drive around is considerable.

I feel little if any need any more to fly to Las Vegas for gambling: does not compute.

I had just that conversation with my wife. Access to reno makes it even more relevant to us. Between reno and SF area....we can get nice restaurants , and entertainment.

In most cities with a metropolitan area or even a local college with a venue for concerts, you can see plenty of good acts. Comedy clubs are abundant in most big cities.

The only thing vegas offers as far as entertainment is the big extravaganza shows like"O" and such...you cant really get that anywhere else. Although some "cirque" shows do tour.

We skipped Vegas this year for the first time.

I think there is a psychological pleasantness about "getting away" even if you are doing things that you can do locally at home, or an hour away. I get it.

And for the younger adults that are into clubbing...then there is nothing like vegas as far as the concentration of many clubs in a small area.

But for my age, Reno/Tahoe and SF metro area covers everything I can find to do in vegas.

Sometimes one just need to appreciate what sitting right there in their back yard.

Las vegas has lost its appeal to me as I just don't want to feel gouged and taken advantage of. While I still love to play craps, I don't play it seriously any more so I am happy to get away from the Chicago weather once a year and play a little craps. Unless I have food comps, I don't partake of the Caesars overpriced restaurants, and certainly Chicago is one of the top restaurant cities now anyway. If I want to pay for an upscale (overpriced) meal, I can go to any of the various other casinos.

I always enjoyed my one trip to AC every year as a side trip when going to Monmouth racetrack. But with all the closures and degradation of the Boardwalk, even that has lost its appeal.

But I guess the young partiers who don't gamble and just blindly pay for everything with no expectation of comps will keep them going without me.

There was a time in vegas that anytime a new casino opened "you had to see it". Each new casino outdid the next.

Now the novelty is over, the "new" casinos cant be much different than the existing casinos..there is no "must see" ...for me at least.

Now a wide eyed young person will be wowed by the bright lights and such. But been there...seen that.

The prices never bothered me...because when I was on vacation I wasnt clipping coupons or looking for deals. Vacations for us was about doing what we wanted/when we wanted and we didnt look at price tags for that week.

However you tend to look past your own backyard and dont realize what is there. Recently we have been looking in our own backyard, Tahoe, Monterrey, San Fran,

I would like to go to Vegas to see the new Pinball Hall of Fame, since I was only at the old location at 3300 Tropicana. And then the other big pinball location Flipperspiel (south Eastern Avenue) which I also have not visited- so a pinball related trip would be the draw for me. +EV opportunities are good enough up here and Stations is going to be building a new casino across the street from the Reno/Sparks convention center to shake things up.

the pinball museum is no longer on tropicana?

I was at 2 versions of the pinball museum. The first in a strip center on tropican near the old liberace museum. And the second in a free standing bigger venue on tropicana as well

I believe stating that the museum is not at 3300 tropicana is not the same as stating it is no longer on Tropicana.

I find it odd that the Boyd's casinos in downtown do not have resort fees. But the ones in other locations do. Seems to be a inconsistency. I doubt it is competitive pressure as a bunch of other downtown casinos have resort fees -- even the dowdy El Cortez. Does anyone know why there is this difference?
