Thread: Steve Wynn

The guy is certainly taking some hard shots these days; my question: is it karma?

His past is quite colorful, seemingly somewhat sanitized with any skeletons deeply buried, if in fact they ever existed.

I wonder what he, the person, is really like, once the mogul personae is dropped?

    Decent guy or asshole?

He has done a helluva lot to make Sin City what it is today, but should that be enough to protect him, if in fact he's really stepped in it?

Does lionizing someone sometimes involve throwing them to the lions?

the question you ask is if wealthy people should get a "pass" as far as the way things are now in society.

On tues a sports radio Jock Patrick Connor, that I listened to here in SF, was on a Syrius radio show, and called a 17 year old olympian, "a nice piece of ass when she turns 18".
He was fired from local radio station the within24 hours.

Because in this world now, if someone says something offensive...it blows up on the internet, and then advertisers have to make a quick decision....and before the advertisers make that decision the media employer per-emptively fires the person to less the reason for the migration of advertisers away.

thats the world we live in.Maybe the guy made 100k a year or less. Not alot of money out here.

So should there be a special set of rules for the wealthy? I say no.

However there is a special set of rules for the higher level talent. If Tom Brady said that....he would apologize and that would be the end. If one of his offensive lineman said it...they would be gone in a minute.

so it all comes down to the money that can be generated from the person. with talent.

However Wynn is not an entertainer. The gneral public arent looking forward to seeing him in concert. They dont have all his albums. He is a dispensible corporate guy...and corp[orate guys to the general public are a dime a dozen.

they forgive their entertainment heros....but dont fucking care about corporate guys.

If he was forced to sell his gambling establishments.....the general public would not blink.
