Thread: Go Knights Go

I clearly messed this up a couple of years ago when they were testing interest in Season Ticket sales which it only took them two weeks to sell 10,000 tickets. I realize now what happened. The big companies bought up all these season tickets and re sale them on these apps like Vivid, Seat Geek or many others basically cleaning up.

I should of bought some season tickets myself and I could of sold one set for double the price individually paying for my own two seats in the process.

I am guessing someone like Vivid or Seat Geek bought up a bunch of season tickets and when they re sell them they get top dollar plus the Fees... the Fees has to be where the real money is.

I find it funny that if you got caught selling tickets on the street above ticket price you will get charged for scalping but clearly scalping online is perfectly legal.

Monet, while I am still a rookie, I miss your posts. For the record, I am a big college hockey guy as I have gone to the last 19 Frozen Fours (final four of hockey). Winning the Stanley Cup is one of the ultimate prizes in sports. Especially since drugs and cheating are not involved (guess where I live as an out of towner).

I always root for the underdog in all sports (as long as my childhood team is not involved). The Vegas team was set up much better than any previous inaugural team in any sport. But that still does not take away from what this team has done. As I had grown up in the shadows of West Point in my youth, how can you not root for the Golden Knights?

Good luck on the finals. My NY Rangers went a long time between cups. Frankly, it was 54 years of bad officiating. My advice is win it now. No one knows what the future holds.

Deech it's interesting you mentioned West Point. Has the success of the Vegas Knights put a temporary damper on Army's lawsuit over "Golden Knights" or has that been resolved?

While the 90 day limit has expired on trying to settle the issue, I have not read anything that states that a compromise was achieved. The Vegas hockey owner is a West Point graduate so you would assume a friendly agreement would occur. In upstate New York both the College of Saint Rose (a Division 2 team near Albany) and Clarkson University (a Division 1 hockey school) use the Golden Knights name and I am sure agreements had to made here also.

I find it interesting that if a bland name as Tigers or Bobcats is used, no one complains, but Golden Knights has an aura that will confuse the public when seeking tickets to a hockey team in the heat versus a parachute team outside New York City.

I've cleaned up this thread. Please do not pollute it with messages unrelated to hockey.

I wish I bet on the Golden Knights before the playoffs began. I was considering it. Looked like a special team to me. One of those which improbably advances all the way through, when the odds seem to say they'll lose. I remember thinking the 1988 Dodgers were the same way. Same with the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals.

Anyway, I think they're going all the way, though that's not a huge prediction at this point, given they're in the Finals.

Sorry Druff its not happening.. Caps in 6 my friend.. Biggest weapon Vegas has is Fleury and he's been made mortal by the Caps so far in 2 games.. His save pct has dropped from 94% prior to only 88% in the SCF and his GAA is Double what it was coming into the finals. He really was the one issue I was worried about with my Caps facing him due to his history in Pittsburgh against them. Overall the Caps have more talent skating wise then Vegas still. Caps win Games 3 and 4 will lose 5 back in Vegas and finish it off at home in Game 6..

So you waited until the series is tied to make this prediction?

As far as vegas goes ..isnt it amazing that in a sport that imnvolves such precision and threadin g the needle passes....that a team thrown together could accomplish this through an entire season.

Its funny when Durant came to GSW.....people were saying to cut him a break and cut the team a break because it takes time to learn to play together. ANd thats with one single player. You always hear that mantra when there are one or 2 new players on a team.....they need time...blah blah blah.

But yet LV hickey didnt need time. Why is that. Why would it not be needed in a game that requires teammates to know where ther other teammates are going to be, anticipation, knowledge of tendencies., knowledge of team mates speed and what they are capable of....all at lightening pace.

Is it remarkable....or is it just bullshit when people say that time is needed for new folks to fit in.

Messing about with Vivid Seats yesterday I found some 45 dollar tickets.
This is a good deal in Vegas and decent seats for the price.
Upper Level Behind the Shoot Twice Goal only a couple rows back from the front.
You are up high enough that you can see all the action.
Somewhat difficult to see the far net but still worth the money since you are saving 3 to 4 times the amount.
3 Tickets cost me 180 dollars. Those Fees and Taxes are murder! 33% added onto your ticket basically.
Opted to get robbed in the parking garage for 25 dollars this time instead of walking from Hooters or Wild Wild West.
Spent 5 dollars inside. Add in some gas cost and the total was about 225 dollars maximum.
75 dollars per person which isn't so bad for Vegas. The rest of the NHL is paying far less for premium seating.
The Problem is that the Vegas Golden Knights are the new/hot show in town.
It doesn't help that they seem to always win at Home and they are a winning team in general.
Two years ago I figured we would get 10 dollar tickets because of how bad they are.

Anyways... the game was pretty great!
I got to see the NY Islanders which is one of the greatest teams of all time.
Not recently but in the 80s they were!
As a matter of fact, after Montreal won 4 cups in a row from 1976-1979...
The Islanders won 4 in a row from 1980-1983!
Their 19 consecutive playoff series wins between 1980 and 1984 is a feat that remains unparalleled in the history of professional sports.

The noise in the arena is bad enough.
This year they are using reverb constantly.
Perhaps, reverb is the wrong term.
It is so strong that when you talk your voice is distorted.
I am pretty sure that I am getting old since I don't like nor agree with all the reverb/noise.

Knights came back from down 2-0 to win 4-2!
    Go Knights Go!

Was in Vegas a few weeks ago when they played the Caps and Blackhawks. Amazing how many road jerseys you see on the strip. Obviously bringing an contingent of fans which is good for the city but is also increasing ticket prices.

Just wait until the Raiders start. The tickets are going to be crazy with every team having 30,000 fans trying to get tickets.

They had their year last year. Expect nothing but more failure and heartbreak as the players become alcoholics and gambling addicts.

Might as well post in this thread since the Playoffs are around the corner yet again.
I love Hockey! - Father of Happy Gilmore -

I have gone to a dozen games this year.
The game on March 6th, 2019 against the Flames may have been the best experience for me in the Fortress.
The crowd was very loud and completely into the game. More so than usual.
I took my uncle. We were 12 rows back from the Vegas Shoot Twice Goal.

What a game! This game had everything. Very similar to a playoff experience.
The players were ready to play on both sides of the ice.
Very quick and Vegas looked better this night in the last 6 to 8 weeks of their difficult stretch.
This game made 5 in a row which anyone who knows hockey this is the right time to get hot.
I noticed my Penguins are starting to play with more focus as well.
They are in a close race but should be able to make the playoffs for 13 years in a row I believe it is.

The Knights should make the playoffs for the second year straight barring some horrible losing streak.

    Anyways back to this game.
Like I said... great game and atmosphere.
A huge pile up right in front of us before the close of the second period.
Almost a Goalie vs Goalie Fight at Center Ice but I think they were both bluffing.
Although Fleury has always said he dreams of fighting another goaltender just once in his life.

The game ended with a 2-1 score as the Knights won their fifth in a row.
I suspect that the Flames may just be playing the Knights in the First Round this year.
    Time will tell.

Might as well post up a jackpot picture that I hit before the game.

I also have been getting into Game Issued and Game Worn Jerseys.
I hate the Replicas. The NHL should offer Game Issued quality to their fan base for a reasonable price.
GI or GW Jerseys run from 300 to about 2000 dollars depending on what you want.
However you can buy Jerseys all the way up to 200k these days.

I bought a Pittsburgh Penguin 2007/08 Game Issued Derek Engelland Jersey for 325 dollars recently.
He was in their minor league system at the time and I guess he was on the fence for getting called up.
They issued him this Jersey but he never wore it.
In my mind the Jersey was a steal.
I get my Favorite Team Game Issued Jersey.
It has a player who played for the Las Vegas Wranglers, Pittsburgh Penguins and now a Golden Knight.
Anyone who knows about him knows he is an Alternate Captain for the Knights.
The Jersey was owned by someone named Jami.
Most collectors frown upon wearing a Signed Jersey.
Not many of these Jerseys and it could be one of a kind so I don't care.
Price was right. Penguins with a current Knight Player. Game Issued Made In Canada Jersey...
I will wear the &%^$*# out of this Jersey!
(Jerseys like these are made better and everything is sewn into the Jersey unlike the Heat Pressed replicas.

I also bought 2 Colin Miller Jerseys that are Set 2 for Season 2.
One home and one away Jersey.
I talked them down 20% of the price but still paid 675 dollars for each Jersey.
That's almost 700 dollars for one shirt!
I told my Uncle when he wears his he can't eat or smoke in it
He has a bad habit of ruining clothes with mustard, ashes or burn holes.
Had to buy them though because his room has many Miller Beer Signs and a Miller Bar Light that he sort uses as a night light.

The plan is to stand up and yell... Its Miller Time when wearing them.
Should be here for the next home game we go to which most likely will be against the Jets.
Most likely be the last game we go to till the Playoffs start since the schedule is kinda weak compared to that game.

Here are a few pictures if anyone has interest.
Go Knights Go and of course Lets Go Pens!

Vividseats is not the go to this year.
This year I have done better on the VGK ticket exchange website.

You can troll the thread but somehow Dan got in here cleaning it up only allowing Hockey Talk.
I didn't ask for that nor do I care if it is cleaned or trolled.

The Knights have been on a Hot Streak since the Trade Deadline going 10-1!
This came after a cold streak of almost 2 months.
Those two months had my Uncle very quiet as I laughed and yelled obscenities at my Television on a bi-nightly basis.

To make this Hot Streak even better the Sharks have lost 4 in a row and just got beat by the LA Kings 4-2.
Hopefully they make if 5 losses in a row as they play the Un-Mighty Ducks tonight!

So last night we played Losipeg and crushed them 5-0!
I took the wife and uncle and we had seats five rows back from the Vegas Shoot Twice Goal.
One puck hit the glass so hard heading directly for my head I even ducked out of the way LOL!
My wife said that was some serious 3-D!

These tickets cost 275 dollars each after all fees and taxes.
A little steep but worth it to me.
Our birthdays are around the corner anyway.
So this was basically my present and I can't think of a better one.

This game wasn't as fun as the Calgary game a few weeks ago but it was nice to actually get my wife to the game.
She even relented and wore the Miller Away Game Worn Jersey that cost 700 dollars.
She was swimming in it but I told her about 100 times that she looked great in it and that is the way you are supposed to wear it!
I explained that wearing the knock offs or the made for women fake jerseys was not the way to go.
They might fit better but for the real experience you want to wear an authentic jersey that the player actually worn on ice.

Once you know the difference between Jerseys it is interesting to see all the Chinese Knock Offs people wear to the games.
You see plenty of the 200 to 250 dollar Authentic Jerseys that are made in Indonesia but they do not even come close to a Game Issued or Game Worn Jersey made in Canada.
I have a Breakaway Authentic Jersey that is the step down in the Authentic world and I will upload some pictures so you can see the major differences.
Everything on a GI/GW Jersey is sewn in and the material is far superior.
The Authentic Jerseys are mostly Heat Pressed instead of sewn in.

    Anyways Knights roll 5-0.
An interesting note is that I have my Uncle and Wife wearing number 6 who is Collin Miller.
I haven't seen any updates but he did not play in this game lol.
He may have gotten benched because if it was an injury they would have reported it
I didn't buy the Jersey because of the player anyways.
My uncle enjoys the champagne of beers and his room has Miller on the wall.
So naturally it makes sense to have a Miller Jersey and say It's Miller Time while wearing it.
Below are some pictures of his room and the Jerseys and our view at the game.

I was going to wait for the playoffs but I got another decent deal on tickets so I plan to go to the Oiler Game on April Fools Day.
Expect another update and expect a Jersey comparison when I have more time.

Did you go to the game last Knight?
Just ridiculous! I was tired after the second goal of period one.
This game had everything. Hat Trick. Fight. Glow Sticks. etc etc

I know everyone thinks APs have no money or don't do anything but vulture.
I try to do many things that have nothing to do with Casinos or Hustling.
($312.50 per ticket is highway robbery but making the Uncle Happy is worth every penny!)
It could be worse I could of paid 27 dollars for a can cooler sleeve like I seen one sucker do at the game LOL.
17 dollar beer and would you like a 27 dollar jacket to keep it cool LOL??
I couldn't believe we sat next to people who were eating stadium food and buying 17 dollar beers.
Do they not know they could eat before and after the game?
Do they not know you can get a plastic container and fill it with alcohol and sneak it in??
These people had so much food and popcorn I thought I was at the Buffet

I went to 8 of the 10 Playoff games last year.
This Game 3 of Series 1 against the Sharks was the best so far!
Last Year the Shark Fans traveled well.
This Year I didn't see as many!
Knight Fans were all over the place and in proper gear!

The Rivalry between Vegas and San Jose is Real!
I have hated the Sharks for 28 years but now I have a better reason!

Even though we stole the Glow Stick opening it was a sight to witness!
Yellow Gold all over the place.

16 seconds after puck drop it was time to get up and High Five everyone!
56 Hits for the Knights and 42 Hits for the Sharks!
That is 98 Hits during One Game!!
Fun to watch. Not to mention a Hat Trick and 3 goals at the start of each period!
Kane tried to fight Reeves!? Pure Madness as Reeves took it easy on him.

Mark Stone stole my 20 dollar hat.
No wonder my Uncle left his hat in the car

For those of you that have interest here are a few pictures from our seats!

    Early Bird
    Warm Ups
    Knight Time
    Face Off
    Stone Cold Hat Trick

I know the King Fans hate the Sharks too!
Knights stole the Go ---- Go chant from the Kings.
Many people hate that we use it but too late now.
I prefer... Here we go Vegas, here we go!
However that is an old school type of chant and I am getting old.

I almost drove to San Jose since tickets are so much cheaper.
I could of taken a 4 day vacation and seen two hockey games for about 1000 dollars or so if I skimped.
Of course I would of went over budget.
8 to 9 hour drive one way didn't sound like fun and I didn't want to get knifed wearing Vegas Gear at the Shark Tank

Hope the Kings and Ducks do better next year.
Although the Kings and Ducks got swept last year it was nice to have all 4 teams in the Playoffs!

Didn't realize you lived so close.
Thought you were on the East Coast for some reason.
    Playoffs are crazy.
Too bad nobody bet the Blue Jackets LOL!
    I feel bad for Tampa.
I really thought they were gonna breeze through winning the Cup this year.

The LA Kings have the best story of All Time!
    REVERSE SWEEP 2014!

San Jose Sharks A Legacy of Failure!

Yeah that series in '14 was something else....biggest shock for sure is Columbus in front of Tampa 3-0, never saw that coming...Columbus' coach, Tortorella is a real piece of work, in a funny way tho...google some of his interviews, they are hilarious.....Would love to see a Toronto-Vegas final

I decided not to go to game 4 even though I could of got 10 rows back from Center Ice.
This is because I figured the Knights would have to at least play one more game or more at T-Mobile no matter what.
So I was free rolling so to speak.
Also sitting at home watching on the big screen in my Recliner is nice as well!
Cheaper too and I can dance around the living room high fiving my dogs and uncle

Many things can be said about this game but this picture below is all that is needed!!
