Thread: Lone wolf whales

  1. #1
What do casinos have to offer a lone wolf whale, i.e. a single gambler who travels without an entourage and who has enough discernment not to be impressed by the flashy stuff in many suites?

I'm talking about the kind of guy who cares nothing for quantity but all about quality.

So instead of a big luxury spread with a couple levels, a butler, etc. he'd prefer the finest of linens, furnishings and decor in a sanely-sized small suite.

Surely not all whales are impressed by gee-gaws, smoke and mirrors?

In Stephen Paddock's case it was complete privacy - no surveillance or security monitoring of any sort, so that massive amounts of munitions and firearms could be brought into the suite with no questions asked and no witnesses.

I'm wondering whether any casinos offer a top flite small suite, not large, but with the highest possible quality furnishings and decor?

Something for the discerning whale flying solo.

I was wondering, what does being alone have to do with it.

Why couldnt a person with an entourage still expect highest quality.

I guess at some level of play they are treated like rock stars. You know of course that contractually most rockers specifiy what is needed in the dressing room, from shrimp, to green M&MS, to a exersize bike....etc, So why couldnt a whale have their needs met similarly. They are of course the "rock stars" of gambling. So the casino sends out a flunkie to get some items, or if they have advance notice, any item of need is a mouse click away.

If a whale wanted fine linnens, I dont see a casino telling him to go fuck himself.

    No, of course not.

But some of the bigger strip casinos have palatial suites available for these guys, they're absolutely huge, glitzy, over the top.

But I suspect there are some wealthy gamblers who would eschew such nonsense, indeed they'd rightly be offended by it.

Guys who believe in simplicity and elegance: a zen-like experience.

What is out there to float their boat?

Maybe a one BR suite, finest linens and furnishings, truly high end stereo and home theater, an old master or two painting on the wall: you know, simple, tasteful, the absolute best of everything but in a small dose.

None of the velvet Elvis bullshit.

That exact thing does exist—Aria sky suites and Wynn tower suites provide exactly what you suggest.
